The beef scallion roll was excellent, the soup dumplings were also good along with the wontons in spicy sauce. The only good thing that wasn’t great was the spicy Szechuan tofu, the sauce wasn’t spicy at all and to be honest not great. I would recommend this place for certain dishes but pass on that one for sure.

Went in to Shanghai Dumpling House this afternoon for lunch. A decision that was pure fate and changed my standards for Chinese food. This place is nothing short of amazing. A small restaurant downtown where dumpling magic happens. We had cream cheese wontons that had rich decadent cream cheese in a beautifully fried wonton. An incredible sweet and sour sauce brings them to a whole new level. An order of steamed pork dumplings that came in a bamboo basket. I bit into one and the best tasting pork juice shot in every direction from out the dumpling. One of the best pork dumplings I’ve ever eaten. Light dumpling filled with porky decadence. We had shrimp fried rice that had big flavorful shrimp and vegetables with egg. It was very good but I do prefer my rice a little darker. Our waitress was excellent and very nice to our daughters. I can’t reccomend this place enough. It checks so many boxes. A truley excellent culinary experience by chefs that know their craft. If your in Ashville Shanghai Dumpling House is a must stop.

Atmosphere, service, food, and drinks were all amazing. It was our first time having Soup Dumplings and we were not a fan of the texture, but not knocking a star cause all of the food was still top notch. Spring rolls and wontons were so good! Definitely worth checking out!

Order all of the different dumplings and the pork buns, and they were all very delicious. Pork Buns were definitely my favorite. It was busy and took a little bit to get our drink, but the food came quickly after ordering. Server was very nice and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The wall mural is beautiful too!

Popped into Shanghai Dumpling House after a hike. We were both starved by the time we arrived, and were surprised to see that they were super busy at 2:30 pm on a Saturday. There was a steady stream of customers for the entire hour we were there. Service was great. Food came quickly and was hot and delicious. We had scallion pancake, bao buns, and three types of dumplings. It was all great, but the soup dumplings were to die for! I hadn’t seen them outside of various Chinatown spots we have been to. They also had an interesting cocktail menu and several beers and wines. Would highly recommend.

I was expecting more! But it was absolutely delicious. The fried dumplings are not as good as expected. The batter was still soft and watery. The drinks were scarce (beer) and limited options as to how to order food. For instance I wanted to try 3 fried and 3 steamed (same priced item menu) out of 6 but could not.
