very solid spot for some delicious shanghainese food! came here on a weekday lunch with a large group of coworkers and the staff was very easy and willing to accommodate us with no notice. dishes came out fast, and all were tasty, with a few major standouts—the fish filet, fried tofu, and the lions head meatballs were some of my favorites. would definitely come here again to satisfy my nostalgic chinese food cravings :).

Went out to eat with my parents at Shanghai Delight in Milpitas. They have some good and other decent dishes. We ordered the Braised pork with preserved vegetables, salt and pepper pork chop, Steamed Fish in chili oil, Xiao Long Bao, and sliced beef in chili sauce. The braised pork is a little bit sweeter which I’ve had many where this is their style. It’s still really good and tender, the steamed fish, literally just melts like butter tender in your mouth. If you aren’t familiar with sichuan pepper, it kind of has a numbing effect while you eat the fish. The salt and pepper pork chop was a bit on the salty side, so if your palette is more on that side you will really enjoy it. It was cooked really well and very tender and juicy pork chops. The xiao long bao’s dough or wrapping was a bit thick and the meat filling was ok. Lots of great dishes to try here. It someplace we have come back for multiple times.

I gave two stars because this place USED to be really good and we visited often. I went back after almost a year (previous visit Aug 2022) because we moved to Livermore. Drove almost 45 minutes one-way to pick up. Ordered 4 items – 1 soup, 1 green beans, 1 ribs, 1 veg. Total $86 w/o tip:

A true solidly good Shanghai-style resto-canteen with a really good menu. Love this mall as well! Food is also solid yumm and served piping hot.

Ordered a few items but the Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables was not good. The pork had the texture of cardboard or tree bark and the preserved veggies had bark like texture so they did not cut the tough parts from the veggies when they made it. I would not recommend that dish.

Great combo selection, I am surprised about the portion size, good for 3-4 people, 3 dishes with 1 soup and 2 rice combo for $40. Food itself is good authentic Shanghai dish, will definitely visit again.

Best “cai fan” and “ching cao sha ren” I’ve had this far in Silicon Valley. The cai fan could do with a little less salt, but super yummy!

Very good and truly Chinese taste. Dining area is not big. If you like Chinese Shanghai style food, this is the one for you. If you like good environment, you may be disappointed. Good price and very friendly service. No problems if you don’t speak English, just kidding. Highly recommend!
