Family. Hard work. Darn-good BBQ. That’s what Shane Thompson built his business around. In 2002, Shane ditched his corporate job, tossed his tie and followed a dream with his wife, Stacey. He dusted off his grandfather Big Dad’s secret BBQ recipe and opened up the very first Shack in McDonough, GA.
It wasn’t long before the community noticed how he always gives people more than what they pay for and treats everybody like family.
Oh, and making the best BBQ around helped, too.

I had the sampler platter. Food was solid, but no better than I’ve had at other BBQ Joints I’ve been too in SC. Friendly staff, Clean & Comfortable atmosphere. I would eat here again if I knew Ribs weren’t coming from a starving cow. – where’s the meat??? Portions were definitely skimpy. Well run business, but nothing special here…

Great food, will go again! Prices were good, food was great. Had the half chicken with okra and baked beans. Wife had the the “Shaniac” burger. Beef burger topped with BBQ, slaw and pickles. She loved it. The home made peach cobber for dessert was awesome. Had a small sample of the pulled pork and it was great. Left stuffed and satisfied!

A rock solid restaurant. I’ve been here too many times to count and every trip is positive. The staff is always as friendly as they can be. The food always comes out fast. It’s always clean. The food is always hot and tasty. Perfection. Kudos the the employees, management, and owners. (I am judging yall really hard for not having banana pudding though…. That’s almost grounds for not being called a BBQ restaurant.)

This was our first time at Shane’s Rib Shack and we were NOT disappointed. Wonderful food and Brittany was amazing with all the customers. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. I had the chopped BBQ chicken plate and my husband had a Cheeseburger basket. Everything was cooked perfect and large sizes, we had to bring leftovers home. Don’t debate and wait, try this place you’ll enjoy it.

I just ordered 3 kids wing meals. Two mild & one wet lemon pepper. Got all the way to Clover SC and wings was dry. Contacted the manager explaining what happened & he going to cut me off with an attitude and ask”ma’am how can I help you.” Like I wasn’t just explaining the problem. I took that as been rude and not caring about my order been wrong. I’ve been going here for about a year now and will be the last time today. I hate rude selfish people that I have to give my money to.

Almost NO sauce on any of the food. Wings had no buffalo, BBQ burger had literally no sauce, pork sandwich had no sauce. They are either stingy with the sauce, or trying to cut corners. Either way very bad experience. Wings were also very dry and tough. Probably will not be going back

For about 22$ I got some mediocre “BBQ” that Charlotte area had to offer. Best thing on the plate was the Brunswick stew which was perfectly seasoned and had substance, so hats off to them for that. But the rest…… slap in the face. Ribs tasted as if they were oven baked and then tossed on the grill afterwards for some sort of excuse to be classified into bbq. But hey maybe my knowledge of bbq is trash and it’s personal preference to have something of actual bbq.
