Based on my one meal there, I’m not so sure I trust these reviews. I dined here while on a business trip in the area and was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. First, the restaurant was nearly empty for dinner in a Wednesday night. Ok, no big deal. But as the dishes came out, I started to understand why. They were each mediocre at best. This was a solid three experience, not a 4+ as summary of reviews show. Better food can be had elsewhere in La Crosse for the same, or less money.

Good food, steak ordered mid rare was closer to rare, but that’s a very small issue. Over all this was a great great experience. Customer service was excellent. Great seasonings on the meat, and the ravioli with shrimp option is fantastic. I will return there for sure…

Great service, comfortable decor, unique locally sourced menu. A bit pricey (expect to spend at least $25 per person). The food was good, (pasta carbonara, rustic pasta pollo)I would go there again and recommend it to others.

Fantastic! This is dining. We loved everything, the hand crafted food, service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back. I had the filet and my husband had the seafood wild mushroom ravioli…both dishes had an amazing sauce with very distinct flavors. I look forward to coming back and trying new things!

Food was great. Overall experience was not. Waiter forgot to give us salads & wait times for a simple drink would be 20 Minutes. We did not have reservations in which they frown upon clearly. waited 30 minutes for a table and then 2 1/2 hours for dinner.. Just be prepared to not be in a rush at all. It did not appear to be busy which is the most frustrating part.

Very sad to find out this is not the same quality Kate’s on State was. They got rid of all the great dishes the old Kate’s offered. The quality of the food is just not the same, I don’t think my meal was too different than stouffers could have been at home. The prices are high for what you get. I was happy to pay $23 for chicken canelloni, but I regretted spending the same on pesto chicken , especially considering now they don’t include any bread or salad. I don’t think I will be coming back… I will probably just drive to the other side of town to the other good Italian restaurant. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the service was great.

The food was bland, but not awful…definitely not worth the price. I hated that many menu items had no price listed. My fiance and I shared the least expensive entree and the least expensive appetizer, it came with 2 salads and bread. I ordered a Sprechers Cream Soda and he ordered an old fashioned. Between sharing an entree, the appetizer, and drinks we spent over $50. Definitely not worth the price…2 star food for a 5 star price.
