Florida Grateful
Well this is a hard one. I so so so wanted to love this place. I pick a pizza place for every town I go to and after my two-day work meeting ended, I made haste to Shadrach’s to pick up a delicious pie, I was super excited! Here’s the run down: TBH this is really 2.5 stars but I’m doing a solid with rounding to a 3 based on potential. The concept is great and I love the story of food truck to brick and mortar but pizza comes down to dough and sauce. Quality cheese (assuming not homemade moz) and toppings are easy to source and expected if I am to pay attention to so I focus on the sauce and dough. Something is off in the dough composition or turn down the heat! There is a wonderfully delicious char that can occur with a very hot coal or wood fire oven; this unfortunately is not the case at Shadrachs. The dough went way past a tasty rustic char to a full burnt bottom that was bitter and unpleasant. Additionally, the toppings were sparse. I always order 1 1/2 times sauce because for some reason most Florida pizza shops do not understand how to properly sauce a pizza and this establishment was no exception; if there was extra sauce I could not find it. This review is honestly way longer than necessary and if you read all of this you must love pizza as much as me. Overall all, I wanted to love it but I didn’t. It was extremely overpriced for mediocre delivery and I unfortunately cannot recommend.

My husband and I came to Shadrach’s for a late Valentines day lunch, and we were both really impressed. There were Valentine’s day decorations, balloons, roses, and candles, which all added a nice touch. The pizzas are cooked to perfection in a wood-fire oven, and there are quite a few options to chose from. They have a drink menu, food menu, and a menu that has starters and sandwiches on it. I got the BBQ chick, and my husband got the stinger. Both tasted delicious. Service was great, we ordered our drinks first then pizzas. They also have merchandise, so if you’re eating here, check that out as well!

While visiting Mount Dora this little gem was recommended to my husband and I by a local. The pizza was absolutely fabulous! We ordered one margarita and one plain pizza. Crust was perfect. Loved the atmosphere of the outdoor seating. The only down side was when we initially came up to the bar where you order. Before we could finish looking at the menu we were urged to get a takeout menu and look around at some other places to eat as well. We reiterated that we wanted to order. It was odd. However, after we sat down and ordered, everything was fine.

We tried a sausage and pepperoni pizza from Shadrach’s at The Amp in St Augustine. It was pretty good and I’d give the pizza a 3.5. The people working the food truck type set up were very friendly. Although there are pizza places I like better, this was still a nice tasty surprise.

This place was delicious!!! Went there Saturday for lunch 7/1…Goat cheese super scrumptious and pizza was delicious!! The Cashier guy with nose ring didn’t catch his name was super friendly and helpful can’t wait to go back. If you don’t want to sit outside they have indoor seating as well…

As a well traveled Chicago native, I can enjoy a good pizza. Shadrach’s truly delivered with their BBQ Chicken pizza. You will love the outdoor eating area and being able to see your pizza be placed into a true wood burning brick oven is treat! Chef’s kiss!

Positively fabulous pizza!!! Family run business that started with a food truck and now has a great outdoor venue in downtown Mount Dora!! We often drive to Prato in Winter Park for pizza, but now we don’t have to! The sister and brother were super nice and took great care of us. This spot will definitely go into our regular rotation of local eateries!!
