Tried the new sandwich shop in downtown slo for lunch. Was pretty empty and initially thought it was closed since really dark and lacking an open sign, bit staff was very friendly fave recommendations and they shared all their pastries and salads are made fresh in house.

My sandwich was gross. I got a New York style Pastrami… it was sweet!! Why was it sweet? The meat tasted old. There was very little meat (Maybe that was for the best.) The potato salad was tasteless.

My husband and I ate here today and had a fantastic experience! The two gentlemen working were polite, engaged and efficient. Our sandwiches were delicious and our PB cookie was the perfect treat to round out the meal.

Ordered boxed lunches today (9/9) for a group. The boxes came with a sandwich, cookie, salad, and chips. I got the Cajun turkey sandwich – it was really good, I recommend it! I didn’t catch the name of the young man who helped us out and delivered our order, but he was very friendly and got everything together for us on time. The order was perfect and the food was great. Thank you so much!

Ordered the Sicilian sandwich. Best sandwich I’ve had in months without a doubt. Very clean all around as well.

Everything here is hand made. All the soups, and baked good or made fresh daily. Their stuff isn’t gross preseasoned recipes either they grill it all up in house. I.e. homemade meatballs, gravy, etc. Also litterally best service I’ve found In town. Very fast

Sequoia sandwich has finally arrived! Their menu is actually a lovely fit for some missing fare in downtown SLO. Fresh sandwiches, hot or cold, salads, soups, vegetarian, gluten free. And then, ready?! Corn bread and baked potatoes!! The kid’s menu is well priced and everything we’ve tried has been delicious. Have some patience with the staff, the menu is new to them, too. A great addition to downtown dining and right next to the theater!

Tasty sandwiches, reasonable prices, super friendly staff. The California chicken sandwich was top tier.

Disappointed. Ordered a tuna melt. It was cold and obvious that they melted a small amount of cheese on sourdough then put cold tuna in between. The harder pill to swallow is paying over $17 for a bad sandwich, chips and a fountain soada.

My wife and I love Sequoia, however, the San Luis Obispo Sequoia does not live up to it’s counterparts in Bakersfield. We grew up in Bakersfield and it was our favorite sandwich shop there. The menus are very similar but the ingredients aren’t the same. I’ve always ordered the Monterey chicken club, but the SLO location puts it on sourdough instead of the original onion dill roll which is not as good. My wife always had the bistro salad which had always had field greens or spring mix, but in slo it has romaine and isn’t as good. French dip was the same as Bakersfield locations. We were ecstatic that it was coming but have been disappointed after two tries in SLO. We will be going elsewhere until the old ingredients return.
