The name Sel Rrose, a winking nod to the female alter-ego of Marcel Duchamp, Rrose Sélavy, evokes the dynamic artist salons of early 20th century Paris — an era when the roots of modernism in arts and culture nestled neatly between weathered old-world walls and a stiff drink and spirited conversation was always at the ready.
Rustic-chic hangout with late hours & a full raw bar, plus French-inspired small plates & cocktails. Based on 723 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

Came here for their weekly happy hour. We came on a Monday at 5pm and had a reservation. They had 5 different types of $1 oysters for their happy hour, so me and my friend had a dozen each. So yummy! The drinks were less than $20 per cocktail and they had some interesting food options too. I liked the vibe of this place. It’s great for a date or for just catching up with friends.

The happy hour oyster was so worth it! Beef tartar and lobster roll were what to die for!

Went here for the happy hour oysters… They are NOT $1 oysters – they are $2 each, and although there are 5 types to choose from — they were SO small and NOT that tasty or delicious. Waiters were not friendly, they make you feel uncomfortable if you don’t order a lot (I came to try oysters, by myself, I wasn’t looking for a big dinner meal), they give you mean looks and sort of have an attitude. Also the menu doesn’t have any specials on drinks, and the food menu is VERY limited. Will never recommend this spot to anybody.

We found this place by searching for $1 oyster happy hours, and are so glad we did! We loved it so much we came back a second day, and already have it on our list for our next trip to NYC.

If you are looking for a date night spot, a solo quick bite, or a mid-week catch up with your best bud, stop by Sel Rose! Their ambiance and drinks won’t disappoint, and the oysters are delicious (catch their happy hour specials if you can). I stopped by for a solo date; and was greeted warmly by the bartenders.

I came here for afternoon brunch on a Sunday and everything was on point. The bartender never left my drink empty. Espresso martini were super tasty. One brunch spot worth returning.

I dined in for some drinks and appetizers on a friday night. The oysters were great and the vibe was fun. The music got louder at around 10:30-11. I recommend for a casual drink and appetizer before starting your night.

Super cute and chill, if a pricier happy hour, but drinks and oysters were good. Excellent people watching. Came a couple months ago, and the hot vaxxed/girl summer energy was high and intoxicating. Loved it ✨

Great stuff all around! I have to say the oysters won the day. Perfectly shucked, nice and chilled, and a great variety of east coast oysters to choose from, I also appreciate hot sauce *and* cocktail sauce as options.

Friday “classy hour” 4-7 is the perfect recipe for good times with friends. $1 oysters and half price martinis. Truffle fries and smoky spicy salmon roe deviled eggs.
