Decent food for a hotel restaurant. Service was OK. I think our server was busy so we didn’t see her as often as we wanted. Steak entree came with 2 servings of French fries which was a little strange- diner-like presentation. The vegetarian plate I got was delicious (took my picture after I ate some, sorry) and flavorful. The presentation didn’t compare to the steak… It almost looked like the plates came from 2 different kitchens. The decor is beautiful. The bar looked nice but we didn’t sit there. Overall, pretty good.

Really great experience! We came here as a group of 6 for dinner (6:30pm) on a Friday night. From the hostess to checkout, service was prompt and professional. Thank you to Chris our server for the recommendations, every single thing was delicious and beautifully balanced. A nice hidden gem in Monterey and they have live music!

Food and service was lousy. The menu was a joke “tapas” filled half the menu. The other half was so eccentric it had me craving to order off the children’s menu… Executive chef Dan Elinan has a lot to rethink and rebuild here. Only reason for the 2 stars is that the children’s entrees were expedited. The adults appetizers and entrees must’ve gone to see a movie before arriving at our table. Food was cold, bland and somehow overcooked? How can you deliver to me a cold,over cooked, over priced, medium New York steak? When asked for some melted butter was told no but they could offer me some frozen solid butter balls? The mystery behind the logic of the chef and staff intrigues me. Sadly, I will not return for a follow-up performance of mediocrity.

Bizarre. Been craving a Bloody Mary. I called to ask if they serve them at breakfast. “I don’t know.” I asked if there was any chance she could ask, “no I won’t ask, but I mean it depends who I sit you with, but I’m not sure” I said thank you but it would be nice if you could ask…”no. I’m not sure. Some servers do, but I don’t know. Maybe I could sit you with one. Does that make sense?”…I said it did not make sense to me, but thanks.

I want to give a greatreview for our server at Hyatt Regency Monterey. James Montgomery was an excellent server with finite knowledge of the menu and excellent recommendations. His excellence at his profession should be rewarded. As a supervisor, I review talent often and it is clear to me that this is a driven and talentedemployee.
