Small business at its finest. This sandwich shop has been THE place for generations as one of Berks best Italian sandwiches. All the other menu items are great as well. Even though a corporate Wawa is across the street, Screpesi’s has survived and thrived. There is a reason for that. You must try them and see why.

Been going here with my family for many years. I personally go for the Italian sandwiches. I have always had friendly service. I can only remember having one sandwich that wasn’t excellent and that was when we were still wearing masks. That sandwich was a little skimpy on the veggies.

I’ve been hearing about this place since the late 90’s and I finally got me a samiich. Holy smokes was it good. The meatballs are as homemade as homemade gets. Perfection!

Visiting back home from out of state, decided to stop here because i ate here a lot as a kid. Immediately the vibe was not the same. The girl working was very rude and had an attitude. I called ahead and my sandwiches weren’t started but I understood and just waited. She was still very rude. I asked her if she could cut my sandwich in half & she told me no. Never had that happen. Finally got my sandwiches for my family and they were all not good at all. Really disappointed in the decline of the quality. My cheesesteak was disgusting and meat tasted old which makes sense because it was just sitting in a pot on the burner.

If you ever want a real hoagie- go to Screpesi’s! I’m originally from Montco and couldn’t find an authentic hoagie in Berks until…. Screpesi’s! They have hard and soft rolls making these the best! Plus, they sell local tastes and are okay with you butchering their name!! Yummmm!

You won’t find a better Italian or Ham sandwich! …… Pizza isn’t their specialty.. And the steak for sandwiches isn’t cooked to order… They are made ahead of time in batches and kept warm on the stove….

Just ordered a meatball sub, they say their products are fresh… I watch the girl put the meatballs in the microwave!!!! I go to eat it and the roll is all soggy and my meatballs were soggy. Meatballs were all smashed up, didn’t look like a meatball, more just like hamburger in a roll!!! Never again will I go there! Heard it’s a good place, absolutely NOT!!! Also the guy there came in from outside and did not wash his hands before making food!

This is a great place to get subs. I do think their prices went up a little bit, but I think their sandwiches are worth it. I always get a ham on a hard roll, but I’ve heard great things about their cheesesteak and tuna subs. They’re definitely worth a try.

Excellent local sandwich shop. We tried a cheesesteak, italian, ham and turkey sandwich and they all were so good! This place is a must when in Reading!

Hoagie heaven! Screpesi’s proves the adage that local, independent spots are the best. 3rd and 4th-generation owners shared shop history as they assembled my amazing Italian sandwich. Pillowy soft roll cradled tasty cuts, provologne, peppers and herbs. Delightful. Screpesi’s also stocks local favorite chips, drinks, and sweets from Wixon’s. Essential stop in Reading, PA.
