Great location as it allows easy access to the river walk. Nice and cool for a hot summer day. Not very handicap accessible through the entrance. It is family friendly with high chairs for children.

We ate lunch here on 6/27 in San Antonio, TX. They were able to accommodate our family group of 12 at 3 separate tables, due to the lunch hour crowd. We had great food, several got the German sampler platter, which they said was delicious. Someone had recommended this restaurant to us for their famous root beer. It was delicious and well worth the trip. They had a photographer come around and take photos of each table, with which they gave us a small free copy and then had other copies of the photos for sale. We chose to just get the free copies. The service and food were awesome. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone that visits the San Antonio area!

My party of 6 enjoyed breakfast here on Easter Monday. I had heard good things about their breakfast food and I was searching for a place to have a meal before we split up and began our individual trips home.

This place lives up to the hype and is a must. Breakfast, root beer, and hot mustard are the best. Service is polite and fast, always checking on your needs. For being the oldest restaurant in San Antonio, it is very very clean. Please go and enjoy.

What a place! We visited Schilo’s German-Texan Restaurant for breakfast one morning during a recent visit to San Antonio, Texas. And boy did we stumble onto a gem. A true New York/German style deli, everything we ate was amazing. So much so that we ate there four times during our week there. Best Reuben sandwich I ever put in my mouth. The service was friendly, true Texas-style hospitality. Also found out they are the oldest Restaurant in San Antonio. You must give them a try, you won’t regret it.

Had a great lunch at Schilo’s while attending a conference down the street. We started with the sausage platter which showcased their amazing sausage and pimento cheese, then I had the Reuben sandwich which was great. Definitely will return for their famous root beer which was a definite highlight. The German mustard was great and we each took a bottle home with us to enjoy for a bit longer.

Ruben sandwich and the chorizo & egg tacos were so good. Split pea soup was good. Server was very nice and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. Cheapest we’ve eaten out in a long time!! Atmosphere was great, we loved the tile floors. Nice easy walk to shops and Voodoo Donuts.

Excellent food, service, and vibe. Pretzels, biscuits, and Reuben were out of this world! So was the root beer! Joseph, our server had a great personality. This is a classic deli.

Great German -Texan food. I love that they have a mix of both, including breakfast tacos. My favourite was the blueberry maple links. Delicious This place is near the River city Mall and on the Riverwalk.

Very lovely place. It’s currently the oldest diner/restaurant in San Antonio. I had the meatloaf and it was divine, so good I forgot to take a picture before eating. A friend I had dined with had the Schweineschnitzel and i got a taste of it and it was cooked to perfection.
