Love that they had sole and it was fairly priced. The blue Crab Appetizer was delicious, as was the eggplant parm and my friend had the lamb chops leaving nothing behind. oh and the pasta appetizer we had with truffles was soooo delicious. We ate a lot and left nothing behind.

Where do I start? Gian and his team have set a new level for gastronomic standards! The experience we enjoyed is beyond that of spots that have been in existence for decades! The atmosphere is warm and inviting! The food quality and presentation is first class! The service makes you feel like you are part of the family! You will not be disappointed! Treat yourself to an experience of a lifetime! God Bless Blue & Gold!! God Bless America!!

Wow, best restaurant! That simple. Do you want to impress someone with a great restaurant experience? This is the place! The food was so delicious! The staff knows the meaning of “customer service” and they are glad to show it. My wife and I still talk about this place from our NYC trip. Just go, you will be very glad you did. It’s worth every dime for this amazing experience. Enjoy. Tell them the Group from Texas sent you.

Best restaurant I have ever eaten at. Best service of any restaurant I have ever eaten at. Gianni is an unbelievable server, so is Peter and the rest of the servers at Scalinatella. Their food is unbelievably good. Everything I have ordered here is top notch. They will make you anything you want if it’s not on the menu. I have requested several items off the menu, and all of them have come out spectacular. This is the best Italian food in Manhattan, or the United States for that matter.

Good food if you don’t care about the price. I’m okay with buying an expensive meal if I know the price in the menu ahead of time. They overcharged me $10 for my meal, I asked them to correct the bill. They came back and said it was an old menu with an old price but they will correct it for me. When they brought back the bill they explained that they under charged me for the wine by $50. So they ended up charging me an extra $40 because I complain. To me it felt like it was their conniving way of just getting more money. I really did not like the way that I was treated. This place is definitely not worth they’re made up price.

If you do not mind two large glass bottles of San Pellegrino sparkling water to be $24, this is your spot.

If you know you know. Best institution of the UES. Cannot go wrong with the pastas – their constant endless list of specials. Love the staff – great old school high quality spot.

It makes me sad to write this review… This restaurant has a stellar reputation in the city and I’ve eaten here multiple times with wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, my last visit was far from perfect.

5 stars toward the food fresh, delicious, the aroma of the dishes feels like a old Italian lady singing & cooking for her guests, trying to get the best ingredients and prepares the meal with love.

This is our go to special restaurant when we visit NYC. The service has always been impeccable. On this last visit we introduced my sister who was equally impressed. We ordered the branzino, chicken Marsala and papardelle with shaved truffles. As we were planning to share all three dishes we were wondering how it would fit on the table with shared plates. We didn’t have to worry. They perfectly plated our dishes, shared three ways, each one beautifully composed. The branzino was a salt crusted miracle and the pasta was perfection. Considering that chicken Marsala isn’t officially on the menu it was still expertly prepared. We started with zucchini blossoms and finished with strawberries with zabaglione. A perfect meal start to finish!
