First time here, had zero expectations. For a late Saturday afternoon, it was empty. I was surprised. Sometimes that is a foretelling of the food/quality. Not this time, thankfully

Food was delicious, as a Hispanic point of view. Even the tortillas are hand made

Decent Mexican food but when we were there the atmosphere was a bit off and the fajitas were atypical, for example only onions and no peppers included. Frozen margaritas were good

Sazon is definitely a favorite! Comfortable Latin decor, delicious food and friendly service creates a pleasant dining experience. Traditional Mexican dishes and Central American dishes. Pay a visit here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed. Excellent bar, covered patio. Parking.

Sazon is more interior Mexican food than texmex, and it’s pretty damn good. The chicken mole and cochinita pibil are both excellent dishes. I like going to Sazon because it reminds me of South Lamar 20 years ago… and shows up in the building look and feel. Prices are still reasonable here as well.

I came here with a big group of friends for a birthday dinner, a few of them were hyping up the food and I ended up very underwhelmed. My frozen coconut Margarita was the best part of my meal and was actually really good!

This has been my favorite restaurant in Austin for years. Though I no longer live in South Austin if I want to treat my self I make the drive and am always happy to get my usual perfectly cooked everytime. Enchiladas Verdes with carnitas, plus they have the best queso in town. AND +1 for the coconut margarita. Thanks to all at Sazon for keeping up your quality and service throughout all these years! Your #1 fan. -Casey

the tacos, rice and beans were superb. Really delicious. the place smelled like someone dumped a bottle of fabuloso on the floor and just left it. the cleaning chemicals were too strong to sit down so I took the order to go. so good tho.
