To us, Savory Crust is the embodiment of what makes life worth living, and proof that crazy ideas can become reality. What began as a simple distraction soon consumed the Guidote sisters, who sketched out business plans, researched recipes and scouted locations from the hospital room.
It was a labor of love, hope and courage, because that’s what it takes to ride out the storms and come out stronger together. Life is meant to be savored and we know that our team, in collaboration with our artists and customers, will continue to make Savory Crust a space full of love and possibility.

This place is amazing. I ordered it for a work thing and became obsessed. We got two 35-piece empanada variety packs and was so sad that I was full after trying two. Naturally I had to go back a couple days later, and then I ordered it three times in 24 hours with my wife. Just ordered it again now. The following are delicious: I was going to list what we’ve tried, but it’s a long list. Just order from here. So good. Highly recommend. Everything.

Savory Crust in Carol Stream has become one of my favorite restaurants! It’s an adorable hidden gem. The people are so nice who work there. They have such a wide variety of food to choose from including empanadas, rice bowls, apps, and horchatas. I’m vegetarian and there are so many incredible options. The only thing is that it’s sad when the amazing specials change- I would love for the ratatouille and mushroom/spinach/cheese empanadas to come back on the menu permanently!

The food here is absolutely amazing! They have a flavor for everyone. Meat lovers to veggie lovers. they cover all bases. I don’t mind that its a tiny bit expensive. Because the taste is worth every penny! Well done Savory Crust.

Yummy! There is a variety of flavors for everyone, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I purchased the Chicken Curry, Spinach and Feta, and the Apple Pie (special). For the sauces, I tried Sriracha Aioli and Spicy Chimichurri. Spinach and Feta was my favorite with both sauces. Apple pie was delicious too, I hope they keep it as a permanent menu item. If interested, you can purchase frozen empanadas and larger containers of the sauces and sides.

Loved the samosa empanada with the chutney the best and my husband loved the Argentinean beef empanada. Can’t wait to go back and try the rice bowls. The horchata was awesome!

I’ve eaten here four times in the last few years and always had stellar service. Delicious food full of flavor, with traditional empanada options as well as twists. The sauces are super rich. Each Empanada is completely stuffed, very filling 🙂

Y’all. Y’ALL. These empanadas! They are so good. Perfect crust: flaky and crusty on the outside, soft inside. I had the Piccadillo and the Spinach with two sauces, blackberry hoisin and ginger, and the avocado lime cilantro. The fillings were so tasty and just a little sweet, and that blackberry sauce especially… Yum. Service was quick and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and try a rice bowl. The Hawaiian one looks delicious!

Delicious. Hubby found this gem first week it was open. Had the large thanksgiving special and it was enough to feed an army. Ok a small army. But the pork belly and the chicken curry were tops, the chicken pot pie, pica dill o, Parmesan chicken, Philly cheese steak, Argentina beef, spinach feta were very tasty also. The desserts and churros we’re nice finisher. Everything reheats well too. We well be back.
