We had INCREDIBLE food at SauSeas Seafood in Carbondale, IL!! James the owner was so nice and we had a great time hearing his story; a story of resilience, hard work, and all glory to God. The food was amazing!! The salad dressings and various sauces were so flavorful. Highly highly recommend!

Ate here this Saturday afternoon and I’ve never had better seafood, the price for what you get is amazing the food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing. The chef himself came out and talked to every table about their experience. The new garlic cheese bread they have with the creamy crab sauce that’s complementary is to die for! We got the alligator bites and they were huge pieces! Again excellent price for the wonderful quality they are serving!! I can’t wait to go back soon!! This is the type of business we need more of, treated like family from the moment we walked in! ❤️

The servers were nice and the restaurant was decorated well but the food was terrible. I got a really sad salad with some wilted and slightly brown greens and cheese thrown together. No veggies or croutons. The salmon pasta tasted like hungry man frozen dinner. It was very soggy and mushy. My friend didn’t like his sweet potatoes fries as they were burnt. They brought my friend the wrong order. Her fries were very bland. There is a very limited menu and they have no diet soda. I hope the food improves dramatically. I

The food is Amazing! Flavor for days. Weren’t afraid to fry my fish crispy but not greasy. “Miracle Man” owner aims to please! Let’s keep this establishment Carbondale by supporting a great new business with food that makes you want more!

Mixed feelings about this dining experience. We went for an early dinner on Saturday. We ordered the alligator appetizer and we both chose the same entree. The alligator bites appetizer was extremely small for the cost. The server didn’t bring any sauce for the bites. Everything in the entree was good – crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn. The server didn’t know to provide us with a crab cracker. When we asked for one, she actually had to go to every table in the dining room because she didn’t give them one either. While it tasted good, it was a godawful mess. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but this was overboard. If they are going to serve it like that, that’s fine, but at the very least they need to put a roll of towels on the table.

One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Very poor service- she was to busy sitting at a table on her phone. We didn’t receive silverware, napkins, sauce, or refills until we were finished. It took a long time to receive our food- we had to wait until the cook finished his nice heaping plate of food before he started on ours. The prices were really high for the scant amount of food we received. We got a tiny amount of food that was overcooked and tasted awful, unlike the cooks nice meal. This place is way too expensive for the overdone scraps of poor quality seafood, and the sorriest service. B.y.o. silverware, napkins, sauce, drinks and a wad of cash. So disappointing. We will never go there again.
