No good deed Goes unpunished
Very rude customer service. I asked for extra sauce on my order which I never got and then she tried to charge me. Nor did I get extra chicken. Food is definitely not what it use to be. I won’t be back. Definitely gone downhill Sarku Japan isn’t worth it at all.

This was my 2nd time visiting Sarku and my experiences so far have been overwhelmingly positive. They have selections that are unlike most other Asian restaurants, including the bento box, which includes sushi and dumplings. Everything tastes fantastic especially the chicken.

Located in the food court at Cordova Mall. I know mall food court food could be hit or miss- this was definitely a miss. I ordered the shrimp bento box. The best part of this meal was the salad. Sushi dry, yet the 4 pieces were all stuck to each other, wasabi hard as a rock, shrimp undercooked, rice was a mixture of chunky and mushy, and the dumplings were overcooked. They get 1 star because the servers were friendly and polite and service was fast– Probaly because half the food was undercooked. I threw away half of my bento box. Im just grateful I made it through the day without getting sick. I will never visit here again.

Service was bad. The line ran the opposite way from ordering, you were expected to know exactly what you wanted and pay before seeing anything. They where in too much of a rush and rice was undercooked, shrimp was cold and overall flavorless they relied way too much on the teriyaki sauce. Definitely not the same cooking as in north Virginia.

I used to love coming here all the time but now it’s almost like they never have sushi available, and my last online order was wrong once again. I LOVE their sushi I just wish they consistently had it! I literally would drive across town for their food. Now I wonder if the drive would even be worth it.

Great value, got the beef bento box, the meat and rice were delicious, salad was ok, dumplings were ok, but I would not recommend sushi (California roll) it was dry and bland. This was all in the bento box. If I went again I would just get the fried rice and meat, they fill up a standard to go box to the brim for about $10.

Been going there a long time but The sushi girl behind the counter has a horrible attitude!! Shaking her head because she doesn’t want to switch out a sweet tea that tastes like it was made with water house water in exchange for a soda. She’s horrible!! Food was great as usual but I will NOT go back and I WILL tell everyone I know about this experience. In all the years I’ve been a customer, I will go to any other vendor in the mall now instead!! This happened on 3/21/22. And I work in the restaurant business!! Which makes it that much worse! I can understand a lot of things but you don’t treat people like that!!
