It was 8:35 pm, just 25 minutes before closing when my wife and sat down to eat. Generally we’d never stop in into a place with such little time before closing out of respect for the staff. But after being on the road all day we needed food. What an amazing find for us!!! The staff was so gracious and the food was simply fantastic! The spaghetti and meatballs were outstanding, the sauce is thick, tomato-y, and earthy, just like I like it. The meatballs are big, dense and fried to perfection, and the portion is fit for a kind! My wife got the linguine and clams sauce, she says it was the best she’s ever had. And she’s serious about her food. The drinks were cold and the quaint, old timey atmosphere is straight out of an old Mob film, it was absolutely perfect, all of it. The next time we’re in Buffalo we’ll be sure to get there with more time, so we can soak it all in!!! This place is incredible and if you leave hungry, is your own fault! Thanks Santasiero’s, we’ll be back!!!

Ordered 2 chicken parms, the chicken was so over cooked it was inedible. We could not cut through the chicken with a metal serrated knife. On top of that virtually zero noodles. This place was my childhood, now the next generation has zero love. They have ran this place into the ground. The 3 generations before would be ashamed. Close this place before you ruin the great name anymore.

The food and service were great! The atmosphere is like it has been as long as I can remember for nearly 40 years.

I still love my Santasiero’s-best meatballs ever. However, I wish they’d go back to their regular dine-in without having to make reservations, and I definitely miss the Italian bread they used to serve. I don’t like the rolls that are wrapped and served now. I spoke with the owner-he’s having trouble finding reliable workers (same as most restaurants). We ate at the restaurant (no complaints, fine service) and got 6 meatballs to go, along with my large container of leftover spaghetti with mushroom sauce. The leftovers were delicious (along with fresh Tops sliced Italian bread), and had meatball sandwiches later in the week. It’s still delicious, just different for dining in.

Delicious! I’ve been hearing about this place for a long time & finally got a chance to try it! I knew I wouldn’t be near a fridge for awhile, no way to store left overs, so I ordered small/side portions. I ordered a side salad with side of spaghetti & mushroom sauce, with one meatball. Sliced, fresh Italian bread was served with the meal. My friend had a full order of spaghetti & sauce with sausage (link). As a side we got the garlic bread with cheese. The garlic bread with cheese was delicious, but daunting to eat because it was so large. Wait staff was friendly. They don’t really seem to have standard menus…you have to look at the wall to see the selections. I have poor vision, so I didn’t care for this aspect. Overall, was good experience & I would go back. Oh, one more thing, I’d recommend sitting in front dining room. The sewer gas issue in this part of Buffalo was evident in the back part of their building.

I went to Santasiero’s this past Thursday. It pains me to say I’ll never be back. We walked in and noticed a “reservations only” sign on the door. The ignorant waitress asked us aggressively if had reservations, we said no, she said it would be a 2-3 hour wait. Their was hardly anyone sitting in the dining room. The ambience was never great but now it’s become an actual filthy hole. I had fond memories of going to Santasiero’s for years but I can honestly say those days are done. Disgusting!

Santasiero’s is now take out only. Not happy. Food is delicious just like when I used to go down after work and have a sit down dinner.

Went here the other day for my birthday, like I do every year. Walked in on a 80 degree day day to find they do not have air conditioning as advertised on the windows with a fan and windows open. Like every year, I get the linguini with red clam sauce. This year the sauce looked like tomato soup an the clams were from a jar they bought at a supermarket. They normally give you a basket of bread unlike this year we received a roll with butter. I can honestly say that I will never visit or recommend this place to anyone (very sad). They also charge for to go containers that is classified as extra on your bill.

Was really looking forward to this place all day but what a huge disappointment. The meatballs were overdone and the sausage seemed underdone. The Chicken and Rice soup was really thick and bland. The service was good but this place really wasn’t anything special as the reviews lead you to believe. I wouldn’t return again.

I was going to give them five stars initially. The service was great and the food was really good. It’s a cool little restaurant! I brought my chicken parmesan leftovers home to have the next day. Unfortunately, when I cut into it and looked a little closer, I noticed that they use processed chicken which is very sub-par and not good for you. Hopefully they’ll return to actual chicken one day.
