I was recommended to try the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was nice and crispy but not the most flavorful. The curry seasoned fries were a nice touch. The meal does not come with a beverage and there’s not many beverage options other than Japanese sodas. I’m on the fence about the return.

Really glad this food truck found a brick and mortar home, and next door to one of my favorite bars in town! Traditional style Japanese sandwiches served friendly AND fast. I usually go with the chicken but can’t miss with the pork or other options. Recommend for something unique and delicious.

First time trying and wasn’t disappointed. Fun small space with great staff but limited counter dine-in seating, so if you’re planning to eat there eyeball how busy they are first or get your order as take away.

Unique menu items at this small counter service restaurant. Japanese sandwiches or shandos are served either of grilled bread or ciabatta buns. The chicken was marinated prior to being breaded and fried.

Great chicken sandwich! My wife had the chicken katsu sandwich and I had the sweet and spicy chicken katsu sandwich and they both were excellent. The chicken was extremely crispy. The fries fries with the togorashi seasoning were amazing.

I really enjoyed the pork tonkatsu sandwich. The slaw on top balanced the spice for a very enjoyable and crispy experience! The side of sea salt fries are perfection. Crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside.

Looove their Japanese inspired sandos! So flavorful and def has the Japanese taste to it. I’m so happy this awesome place is in my neighborhood. Highly recommended

We placed a group order from which I tried 3 different sandwiches. The karaage chicken on a brioche bun was very crispy with tender chicken but it was very greasy and I could not eat more than half. The sweet and spicy chicken katsu was also crispy and tender — delicious flavor but I was hoping for more sweet and more spicy. The Cole slaw that came in this sandwich may have tempered the flavor so I would recommend asking for a little extra sauce on the side. The third sandwich I tried was actually the burger. This is my first time having a panko fried burger and it was a 10/10. The party was huge and juicy. As for the curry fries, I was a little disappointed by the lack of actual curry, instead these fries have a light powdered curry seasoning — I could smell it immediately when we got the order but the flavor wasn’t very strong. Overall, I do not regret trying out this spot and I appreciate the sandwich options.

The Sando Shack is an interesting experience. It reminds me of a night market style restaurant with its minimal seating and small menu. I was a little let down by the experience though. My chicken karaage was on the salty side and the greasy bread combined with the sauce and frier oil made made the sandwich fall apart before I could finish it. All the grease left me feeling kind of sick. The guys at the shop were really nice, and I want to support local business, so I’ll give them another shot. It might have been just a one off since so many people have had great experiences, and I’ll be happy to change my review based on the next go around.
