Wow, Wow, Wow! If you love barbecue crafted the old fashioned way, head over to Sanders Down Home in Vesta and be prepared to feast. The owner has barbecued for 60 years and he and his family open this place on Fridays and Saturdays from 10-8. The fried pork skins (plain, lemon pepper, or with barbecue sauce) come to the table still popping and crackling. The sliced pork is perfectly seasoned and the sides are well prepared (brunswick stew, green beans, baked beans, fries, cole slaw, black eyed peas, or potato salad). The restaurant also offers fried chicken, barbecued chicken, and ribs. Desserts vary daily, but expect selections like buttermilk pie and lemon cake. Diners can choose to eat inside or on the screened porch and can order takeout meals, as well. The restaurant accepts cash and not cards. The owners are friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and they want to make sure you leave with a full stomach. The Sanders Down Home Barbecue is out in the middle of the country and well worth the drive to get there. Enjoy-

The people were friendly and the atmosphere was home-built country and very relaxed. We had ribs, slaw, potato salad, black-eyed peas, fries, pork skins, and buttermilk pie. The potato salad and slaw were a little sweet for my taste, but everything else was absolutely delicious! We will definitely go back.

If you want old fashioned great customer service, Sanders BBQ is the place!! I was greeted with many friendly smiles by the staff, who make sure to provide the very best to their customers. The bbq pork reminded me of the pork I grew up eating-a rare find these days. Their pork skins are made to order-the best you will find anywhere!! They are absolutely Fantastic. Fantastic Personality, they really make you feel welcomed. Very Friendly. The Stew is amazing. French Fries amazing. Bar B Q Pork amazing. They gave me a small thing of Pork Skins w their Bar B Q Sauce over it and WOW. It was so so good. Very very Clean Place. I can’t wait to go back. I want to try The Bar B Q Chicken and Onion Rings. Worth the drive . I will be back.
