This was our first visit and we will not be returning. We were seated upstairs, where there was extremely loud live music and also a large group celebrating a birthday party. The folks in the birthday group had a blast, dancing and singing. The music was absurdly loud. I don’t understand why they would seat anyone up there with the volume that loud. In a booth, I sat next to the person I was with, and we could not hear each other at all, so there was no conversation. I had to yell my order to the server. Even with me getting close to her and yelling, she couldn’t hear. As a result, she got our order wrong. Specifically, my order was never placed. Once I asked her about it, she said she put the order in but it never came. She came by a few times, each time saying it was on the way out. They did bring me a meal, but it was something I never would have ordered due to a food allergy. I eventually told her to just forget it. I wish I was exaggerating, but I’m not. This experience was awful. The person I was with received their food and said it was fine. I ordered a drink with my meal and they did take it off the bill because I never drank it, since I never had a meal. The food that was received was fine but not good enough for us to go back.

In search of a perfect margarita. My previous spot in Snellville crashed and burned last Cinco de mayo. We will call it Little something. That day we had a 2 hour wait. No problem. It’s a holiday. AFTER THE WAIT. We were served a margarita that was worse than something on Bourbon Street at 3am during spring break. They were made by the gallon earlier that day so by 9pm they were trash. ENTER San Lucas. Jose the bartender is amazing. San Lucas has an elevator so the bar and kitchen are on the second level. Usually sitting at the bar is just for drinks. Not here. The last visit we ordered guacamole. Jose made it for us. The manager Ivan is just as nice. He will actually have a conversation with you. FOOD see pics

It’s your typical Tex Mex restaurant but with much fewer options. I am quite surprised they won the best of Gwinnett in 2022. I didn’t really agree with many of their prices on several of their dishes. The atmosphere is definitely nice and has even got a few activities you can do outside the restaurant while you wait. I personally wouldn’t come back because you can get better quality and size at more authentic Mexican restaurants.

Met some friends here for lunch. Poor waitress seemed as if she was the only one working. She was able to handle the food, but the drinks ran out. Food was ok. I’d give them another try.

Why do we spend time and money visiting a restaurant? Some may say that the quality of the service, can be a good meal or the coziness of the place. But every time we’ve visited San Lucas something different has happened and left us with less desire to return. That you get to the lobby and have to let them know that you are there to eat because they are busy on the phone, bad, that they charge your account for a plate that never came to the table and you have to wait 3 days to receive the money back, bad, That they serve you almost raw and cold meat, bad. I imagine that there may be others who have a different experience than ours. A restaurant is more Thant a nice place, is service with quality, is good food experience.
