Clever Name
Very nice restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. Waitress was friendly and informative, and food came relatively quickly. Cheeseboard had a variety of very flavorful options. I had the Beyond Burger, came well decorated. Would recommend!

Never been to this restaurant before. Husband said he booked reservations at a very fancy restaurant. He made reservations 6 weeks in advance and could only get a 2pm reservation. We dressed up along with the kids. Showed up and it was a buffet brunch which was not expected, but maybe he did not do his research. Regardless, we went through and got food. Very eclectic, but had some variety. Food was cold and service was very disappointing. Such a nice looking place to dine, but we were almost through our cold meals before we even got someone to come over and give us water never mind ordering drinks. Super expensive and definitely did not deliver. Will never be going back…total rip off! So sad for mother’s day!

Wonderful, attentive server (Jennifer). Noise level outrageous since high ceiling and bare walls reflect and amplify voices. I ordered steak tips but the tough gristle and poor flavor made me think these were stew meat in disguise (I had to use my own Gerber blade since their steak knife was inadequate). My wife had the crab cakes and shoestring potatoes; crab good, fries cold and NOT the advertised garlic shoestring. No manager around to check on guests or visible anywhere when we were finished so we could comment. No wonder the place was nearly empty on a Saturday evening. Never again.

The menu is simply a lie. Thrice i have been there and and a good 40% of stuff is simply not available. Sold out of skate at 7pm every time? Whatever else I’ve been able to be served is with so much salt that it is almost unpalatable. Before COVID, it was pretty decent. Now, it’s just not. I am sorry because it’s convenient and a good atmosphere. BUT, whovever runs it now has seriously wrecked it.

Love Love Love! We stumbled on Samuels ibe evening in a snow storm and return every winter. It’s cozy with a nice decor. So glad they reopened. The cocktails are great. The food is well prepared and the staff are attentive.

Great surprise. Good cocktails at a nice bar. We then sat at a table and had the French onion soup. It was very well made with lots of onions and cheese. Not overpowering.

Samuels has reopened! and while some might consider this old school, I consider this place more of a “classicly awesome experience”. Food is great and the atmosphere is far quieter, with easier parking and more gravitas than many restaurant chains nearby. So, if you’re more interested in being able to hear the conversation of the party you’re with, versus simply being seen or staring at a flat screen, try Samuels. Food service and atmosphere rate an A-.

Samuel’s is a consistently lovely restaurant, especially for Andover. Although there are several restaurants in the town that are good, Samuel’s is by far my favorite. The atmosphere is quite nice, the service is pleasant and the food is wonderful. There are times when I choose to eat at Samuel’s rather than various restaurants in Boston because it is just that good (and convenient). I have trouble understanding the low reviews it’s been given here, especially because of the way it compares to other restaurants both nearby and far away. I highly recommend Samuel’s to anyone looking for a higher end dining experience!
