I’m come here pretty frequently, mainly for trivia (Wednesday’s at 7pm). Some of my favorites are the mushroom burger and the Chinese chicken salad. Service can be hit or miss.

My husband had a taco salad, which he enjoyed. I ordered a French dip, what little meat was on it was dry, overcooked almost burnt and they forgot the horseradish listed in the menu. I did not eat it, instead ate my bottomless fries, which i quickly ran out of, and no one offered to refill.

Aloha burger was good, but should have tasted more of pineapple than it did. Meat, bun, cheese, all else good. Limited beer selection was a bit of a disappointment. Very loud sports from multiple screens. It is what it is, and I’m sure it’s perfect for some, but my preference. Service was very good and attentive though, which to me is fundamental. I had two beers and the burger and ended up at only $36 including tip on a Saturday day night which was mind blowing! I might come back too!

This is a “Cheers like” atmosphere in the heart of Bellevue. The entire staff welcomes you as if they’ve known you for years. The food is classic American Bar food that never disappoints. As a new person to town, Sam’s Tavern is a welcome and comforting landing spot.

I am a semi regular and tonight experienced dreadful service. 15 minutes to even be acknowledged at the bar. I watched my burger sit in the pass for over ten minutes. Finished my beer and sat for 15 minutes before I got the tenders attention and declined another opting for a check. I have never had a night like this at Sam’s – the tenders couldn’t care less – taking phone calls – texting – conversing. Not good…

Will never visit this place again. This was the second time we visited this spot. First was ok other than the unexplained switch from the football game over to crazy loud music, but other than that, ok. This time was ridiculous, from the waitress being high off her a$$, the blatant drinking behind the bar, the next waiter so drunk/high he couldn’t even speak, and a grilled cheese delivered with toasted bread and what literally looked like cold sticks of string cheese in-between, I’m shocked they are still in business at this rate. Worst experience I’ve ever had at any Bellevue establishment. You couldn’t pay me to go back!!
