The whole fried catfish was okay, but the red beans and rice was horrible!!!! It tasted like they forgot to put the seasonings in it!!! All of the other locations have AWESOME red beans and rice. I usually order double red beans and rice because Sam’s has some of the best, but I had to throw these away.

Wow! We were searching for a place to eat and Sam’s Southern Eatery had rave reviews from previous customers. I just have to add our own rave review. The food was great and the service exceptionally friendly and welcoming. By the way, this Sam’s was on Barksdale in Bossier City, near the Barksdale AFB main gate.

Everytime we go to Louisiana, we look for a Sam’s Southern Eatery! Our server was so polite and kind. Thank you! They make the best fried shrimp poboy ( I should know. I’ve tried many places☺️) The tarter sauce is the best with just the slightest cajun kick! And even though I don’t, ususally, eat fries – I love theirs dipped in the tarter sauce or alone My husband ate the 2 fish and 2 shrimp Check out the size of the shrimp thumbs

The food was good. My portion size was small. I ordered 20 pieces fish that came with fries. It was only enough fries for about 3 people. I ordered 12 piece jumbo shrimp with 2 sides. For my sides I ordered collard greens and red beans and rice both came in small cups I took about 3 bites each and it was gone. I asked for paper plates because we were traveling and they wanted to sell me some plates after I had just spent about $60 on food.

Delicious fish. Excellent shrimp. Good portions. Nice staff. We stopped at Barksdale AFB for the night and tried this place for dinner. Will definitely go again on our next trip through the area. Was told they had a location in Charleston, SC… We’ll try that one, too!
