Love Sam’s Pizza! When my parents come to town we always have to make a stop here. I have to recommend the St. Louis style crust. We absolutely love the Mac Daddy. It’s always hot and fresh. Ingredients always seem fresh as well. We always get the dinner salad which is another hit. We have had to wait a while at times but staffing is an issue everywhere – no points taken for that. We will continue coming for our favorite pizza in the area!

I have been eating Sam’s Pizza for over 50 years and the pizza’s we had tonight were the worst we have ever had. The crust was like eating bread, the ingredients had no taste whatsoever. The waitress was ok, kept our drinks filled, however she didn’t let us know that there were 2 different types of crust.

This place has the worst service in Highland, and the pizza isn’t that great either. Went there for lunch and there were literally no other customers in the entire place. Waited for 40 minutes for a small pizza before finally just telling the server we were leaving. She muttered something about “not being able to do it all”. Do what? We sat there and listened to her talk and laugh with someone for 40 minutes while we waited. If you can’t staff a restaurant properly then don’t open. The pizza is over-rated Chey Boyardee garbage anyway.

I found the pizza to be bland. Taco pizza just had plain ground beef on it, no seasoning mixed in it. Meat pizza was pretty bland, too.

We were in town for one night for a baseball clinic. Sam’s was a highlight of our trip. The draft beer selection is very expansive and the food was great. You have to try the jalapeno cheese bread! My wings were phenomenal (Muy Thai mild) and our pepperoni pizza was excellent. The service was friendly. A great local joint to visit! The location was clean and very charming. We were there around 9 PM and felt very safe. We will be back if we pass through again.

Sam’s Pizza Pub is right in downtown Highland and offers a fun environment and great beer selection. The pizza is good, and among the best in Highland. Be prepared to wait though, and call ahead if you’re going to pick up your food. Depending on how busy they are there can be quite a wait.

We really enjoy eating here. Pizza is hot and delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free parking. Handicapped accessible and has handicapped parking. Family friendly place. We plan on eating here again next time we are in town.

I’m new to this area of the country having started a job 3 weeks ago in a neighboring town and decided to try one of the local establishments. Sam’s has a friendly storefront and it caught my eye. Inside was clean with a nostalgic decor. I sat at the bar with a couple of patrons and ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich, fries and a drink. The sandwich and fries were tasty and the bartender was very entertaining as was the patrons. They made me feel welcome to join in the conversation. As first impressions go, this was about as good as it gets. While I didn’t have time to try their pizza, one of the other patrons was eating a thin crust pizza and it looked REALLY GOOD!!! Sam’s Pizza & Pub earned 2 thumbs up from me and I will be back to try some of that pizza! If you find yourself in Highland IL and have a hankering for some pizza goodness, give this place a try. I cant imagine anyone not enjoying this place. Cheers!
