Sat on the outdoor patio. Beautiful night, perfect setting. We had pizza half sausage half mushroom, it was excellent. We also had cream of broccoli soup and it was delicious.

We held an 80th birthday party and the staff was amazing. Food was excellent! With the closing of the other day Italian restaurant in wheeling (leaving them nameless) this is our new family go to place moving forward! Highly recommend them for events. Only bad side was they did not serve the cake and rather left it on the table for us to serve. It’s worthwhile to mention we had family style serving for a party of 30. It was great and well done.

Wonderful place we found visiting Buffalo Grove. The atmosphere was amazing. It’s like walking into the 1950s. Customer service was great. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed every dish we had. Actually went 2 days in a row. We were starving so I didn’t get pictures of everything. If you’re in the area, definitely stop in and enjoy a wonderful meal.

I was looking for a nice place to eat with a patio that won’t break the bank.

I understand this is a casual restaurant but the staff was behaving waaay too casually (chasing each other, not paying attention to people waiting to be seated, watching TV instead of tending to customers)… The food is mediocre. Sizable portions but the quality is not there. I could tell the marinara sauce was out of a tin can… Side salads were bland and not really fresh.

First time visiting Sal and Tony’s and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We went there for a 12 year old’s bday celebration and it was a great experience. The server was very nice and helpful, the pizza was absolutely delicious, and the other entrees we ordered were just as good. I’m a pizza snob and their recipe worked on every angle. Perfectly cooked, perfectly tasty. I will definitely go back again and would be happy to suggest it to others. The salads were also worth noting here. I found it very fresh and delicious. Our server brought out 3 different dressings for the salad which I thought was a nice thing to do for our party. Our bill for 10 people came to $240 after the tip. Everyone had plenty to eat and we also had some glasses of wine. $24 per person isn’t cheap, however these days it seems to fall right in line with most places and I think the quality of food and service pushes the value at Sal and Tony’s above most places. In fact, I want another pizza right now just from thinking of it. On top of all of it, we also got a piece of birthday cake for the birthday boy and it was huge, and very tasty.

I thought long and hard about this rating because I think the food is amazing. The salad is fresh and crisp with thick rich dressings. The lasagna with marinara is the perfect blend of flavors. Cheesy and perfectly seasoned sauce. The linguine with oil and garlic with chicken manages to be subtle yet bursting with flavor and the char on the grilled chicken sends it over the top. The pizza is delicious.

Best Italian in Buffalo Grove area, patio is delightful in the summer.

We took advantage of the warm weather and their patio seating to enjoy great Italian food (and maybe some cold beverages as well!) Their peppers and sausage appetizer balances the sweet of the roasted pepper with the spice of the Italian sausage. Veal giambatta was presented with roasted potato wedges, and the combination of veal and sausage was quite tasty. I didn’t realize that the Veal was going to be breaded, but it did a good job soaking up the sauce. We enjoyed our meal and the SERVICE was excellent!

This restaurant is GREAT! The Host looks like a mix of Peter Clemenza and Luka Brazzi from The Godfather! The food was VERY good, that we ate there TWICE in 2 days! Grrreat Sausage and Peppers, Pasta, Bread, Salads, Deserts, etc. Great job guys! We shall be back again and again! A+ and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
