Love this place for a quick teriyaki chicken or shrimp meal. Generous portions, fair pricing, quick and professional service. I’m already a repeat customer so I definitely recommend this place for a quick, casual bite to eat in Normal 🙂

I really love this place ! I have been here for more than 10 times now and still keep going ! Food is delicious with reasonable price. Staff is superrrr nice and friendly. This place is my most favorite restaurant in town.

Large portion size, meal very flavorful. I had chicken and shrimp plate, my wife had teryaki chicken bowl. Ordered as takeout. Had a short wait while preparation was completed but, they were busy. Young lady who waited on me at pickup was very pleasant and professional. Cook asked additional questions that made meal better. Our first visit, and a very positive one!

Sakai Japan is great value for money food. For under $10 you can get yourself a meal that will easily fill you up. The sushi quality is average but at this price point you cant complain much. I think this restaurant really shines in its Bento boxes and Bowls. Also the sides like egg rolls are extremely inexpensive and taste great. Food is always waiting and ready when I go to pickup.

Fresh, hot food that genuinely enjoyed. I had a very good beef bento box and I couldn’t finish it because of how much food it was. I was a little surprised that the sushi bowl was served on a bed of warm (almost hot) white rice, but after adjustment the sauces and fish itself was also very good.

The chicken teriyaki bowl is absolutely amazing! The staff were very kind and even made conversation while I was waiting for my food. Everything was fresh and handmade. Very impressed. I will definitely be back.

This is like your mall style Japanese food done well plus sushi. The sushi is simple and pretty affordable/standard price. The rice and noodle bowls are where its at. Super cheap, Big portions. No complaints.

Thought I’d give their sushi a try since La Bamba Sushi was closed. Wasn’t impressed. The salmon and tuna is the consistency of tomato paste and hard to get down. Should have just gotten Chipotle next door.
