Stumbled across this place on accident and so glad I did! I originally was trying to find a place with a dog friendly patio and I stopped here. I tried the seafood udon and the veggie udon. Both were your standard udon noodles and very tasty. I recommend for something quick and tasty to eat. Prices were also very reasonable!

We had dinner with family. Portugal baked chicken and lamb dish was delicious. The chicken skewer and chicken wings were amazing. Service was great.

Great underrated hong kong cafe. Food is really good and on point. Price is cheap too. They are very generous with the ingredients as well. The entire bottom half of my bowl is filled with noodles. I do wish i have more broth instead but it was a perfect amount of tofu, chicken and shrimp. I really enjoyed it. I just wished that they did not name it laksa because it is definitely not anything close to laksa. It’s a typical chinese style curry noodle.

The deep fried pumpkin (on the street food menu) was a hit with everyone at the table. Salt and pepper pork chops are excellent, Taiwanese pork chops are very overcooked and not as good as they were years ago (they were hard and chewy today). The almond shrimp appetizer was very excellent. Our appetizer came after the entrées and we were all served at different times. My friends pork chop came almost 20 minutes after everything else was served at the table. We shared with her, or she would have been watching us eat the whole time. The teas are fantastic with or without tapioca. Service could have been better. It was hard getting the server’s attention to get containers to take the food home ( and it wasn’t very busy). All in all, it’s a decent place with better food than most places in Chinatown. Oh, i forgot … The Saint Alps fried rice is excellent, the fried sweet potato appetizer is excellent, and their Mongolian beef is great. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

Cheap and yummy food! I personally don’t recommend the Taiwanese fried chicken because they don’t really taste like Taiwanese fried chicken to me, but definitely give the baked dishes a try, specially with the tomato sauce, reminds me of home. I love the sweet tomato sauce with fried rice and the pork chop on top was perfect! The drinks are okay but I’d prob get bubble tea elsewhere next time.

I’ve been going to Saint’s Alp Teahouse since I was a freshman at UIC. That was 20 years ago (yikes I’m old!) when they were at a different location. I had a Taiwanese roommate and she really liked their Taiwanese pork chop and tea egg over rice. So we would go to the restaurant to eat and study. Other than the Taiwanese pork chop, I’ve also had the beef brisket noodles and marinated mince pork over rice. It is good. Their teas are amazing too. I’ve never had anything else on the menu up until recently. My friend introduced me to the sumiyaki coffee with coffee jelly. I’m not a coffee drinker but it is DELICIOUS (adjust the sweetness to your level)! I also ordered the new menu item- sticky rice (lo mai fan). I have a weakness for sticky rice and it is not bad at all. The portion is huge!!

very tasty! Too small for bigger parties (e.g. 6+) but the stone bowls were flavourful with perfectly crisp rice, the fatty beef was an ideal cut, and the special appetizer of fried pumpkin with salted egg yolk was great

Saint’s Alp is really a treat! We were in the area and their outdoor menu really stood out! Glad we decided to dine here! The service was quick and the menu is full of such authentic cuisine! I tried the lamb chops with black pepper mayo sauce….trust me is tasted sooooooo good ( dont let the name scare you away)! The lamb was super tender. Fair prices, nice portion sizes, and quick service. Add this place to your list!
