Excellent place to get dinner. The best things here are the beef tikka (the filet), the bread they give you with the meal, and the beef shawrma. All their meat is very moist, tender and taste excellently! The lamb chops are okay so just stick with the meat.

Incredible dining experience! Our party shared the combo platter, and the food was delicious. Portions were more than enough. The lemon rice soup amazing, and the complimentary pickled cabbage and hot, fresh baked bread was brilliant! I would highly recommend the Sahara to anyone!

I was throughly impressed I am usually not one to give five stars to a restaurant. The staff was super friendly and informative. The food was better than expected. I have eaten at the other location in Shelby township area and this one is better. Def. Recommended

My first time dining there. My youngest sister treated me for a birthday dinner and told me everything there on the menu is organic.

Gabby and I always come to this New Sahara restaurant location, it’s really good. We were seated right away and with bread and cabbage as the appetizer. I got a fetush salad and a half order of chicken cream chop, it was delicious. My friend enjoyed his food as well. We will both definitely be coming back this restaurant!!

We were sat and waited for 20 mins and were never served. Our server continued to walk pass us and provide service to the other guest. When entering the establishment our server was standing at the podium and did not bother greeting us, while the other gentlemen finished a phone order. After feeling unwelcome and not being serviced we left. Of course there were multiple employees standing at the podium when we left and again not a word was spoken as if they were happy we were leaving. The establishment is very unwelcoming to those outside of their own community. Do not bother patronizing any of their locations.

Mediocre across the board. With so many outstanding Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants crowding the landscape, this pioneer in the genre needs to step up its “game.” The food was served cold; the shish tawook and shish kaftan were dry, the kabobs were passing. Really disappointing, lifeless taboulee, limp fatoosh, and runny hommous rounded out the cavalcade of lamentable fare. The worst , very poor service only contributed to the disappointment. There was only one unfriendly waiter who doubled as manager or cashier for our group of 15.His lifeless unsmiling face was a real turnoff. He just motioned with head to the location of the group, when I arrived. Never smiled, never spoke. The restaurant had few diners…a clue perhaps? The waiter who should seek a career change, never asked for beverage orders. All we had were self-serve melting ice water in sweating pitchers After bringing the platters, he”d disappear;in fact we saw him 3 times: when he served the condiment appetizers, the 6 combo platters, and to collect the check and his undeserved hefty tip. We had advance reservations for over a week, which may have accounted for the sub-par, pre-made, pre-cooked taste. Thank goodness the joy of the occasion more than compensated for the otherwise unfortunate food and service.

Sahara was our family favorite for middle eastern cuisine. We’ve been dining there since they opened. However, over the past year the food quality has suffered and the waitstaff treat you as an inconvenience. After three bad experiences one experience involved not receiving the full carry out order we paid for, we’ve tried the competition and there are better choices in Sterling Heights.

Delicious food but a few things were underwhelming. Lamb Tikka was not well cooked. Recommend going with the rice over vegetables.
