Sago? More like Sag-woah! Are you looking for authentic Malaysian food? Sago may be the only option in the city. With an intimate and serene environment inside, and a top chef with decades of experience dedicated to cooking Malaysian cuisine, Sago is now my favorite restaurant in the city. You will get treated like family and eat like it’s the holidays. Sago is the best dining option in the city for vegans. Make time to visit this awesome restaurant, Sago!

I tried Sago for the first time today. Everyone is friendly and hospitable. I got the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, Roast Duck Meal, and the Chicken curry puffs. Everything was delicious, though the roasted duck was not as crispy as I feel it should have been. My biggest complaint is the portion sizes. I got takeout and got home and opened it and had to double check and make sure I didn’t somehow order an appetizer by accident. For the Nasi Lemak to be $14.50, the portion size is an absolute joke. I won’t be coming back because I spent $37 for dinner for my partner and I’m left still hungry

Absolutely delicious meal! Food was flavorful and portions were perfect. The space is small but they make it work. I would recommend Sago to anyone looking for a unique menu that’s accessible and executed perfectly.

Touted as the best Malaysian restaurant in Cincinnati. We ordered the BBQ pork noodles with wontons, the shrimp curry, and the Nasi Lemak with beef Rendang via takeout. Very very flavorful curry. The meet was tender and exquisite. I only wish the portions were bigger but that’s just a testament to how good the food tasted. Will try to dine-in in the future.

Everything was amazing! The adventure outside my comfort zone was rewarded with one of the best date night meals we’ve had in a long time. I recommend trying a variety – the spicy, sweet, and savory blends are such a treat in many dishes.

I was beyond excited to have an authentic Indonesian restaurant after going to Indonesia.

This place is special. I haven’t had much Malaysian and Indonesian food but I have a sneaking suspicion that Anthony Bourdain would have loved it here. The chicken is chopped bone-in and the dumplings are made-to-order and served with gochujang slaw for garnish. Everything I’ve had at Sago has been made with love. It opened in 2019 and survived the pandemic on carry out orders, and a lot customers continue to get their food to go. Which is to say if you dine in, you’re probably behind a few carry-out orders, so be ready to enjoy some tea and conversation while your food is prepared. With a bright and open store-front vibe, I can think of worse places to watch Mt Lookout roll by.

We’re visitors from Houston and came here twice with our son and his fiancé who are living here. All of us tried various dishes. They are all delicious. We’re impressed with the crispy pork and roast duck. We’re assuming the pork are marinated in big pieces instead of the whole pig like Chinese roast pork due to the fact that the meat is flavorful like they’re rubbed on both sides. The skin is very crispy. Meat has just the right amount of fat, not excessive like pork belly.
