The concept behind Sadhya is to bring you many delicious and unique vegetarian specialties from the Indian state of Kerala, where you would experience having a traditional sadhya.
The food at Sadhya is authentically prepared by cooks who are trained in making the cuisine. Many of the dishes from Kerala incorporate coconut in one form or another. This could include fresh coconut, coconut milk or coconut oil. While most people associate coconut with sweet recipes, most of Sadhya’s recipes use coconut in savory dishes.
If you’ve had Indian food at other restaurants, you’re going to notice a difference in the spice profile. You will also be surprised at how the vegetarian items at Sadhya are so completely different from other Indian dishes.

New Vegetarian Indian spot in Englewood that would have kept me here had this restaurant been in business when I lived here. Exquisitely seasoned food that excites the palate and brings juices to mouth. Unlike any of the restaurants in the City that I have previously tried. The flavors are delicate and sufficient for the purpose. The Chef/owner was delightful and knowledgeable about the craft. This place will not disappoint. Cannot wait to explore more items on the menu…

I am visiting my mom in NJ and had a craving for Indian food. Some of the restaurants nearby got really mixed reviews on service and cleanliness so a quick google search brought me to Sadhya and I am so thrilled! The owner and Chef Zen is so kind and friendly and took the time to explain what each of the dishes was prepared from. I have a dairy and wheat allergy so he carefully selected dishes that I could eat and gave me a sampler plate. Among the dishes I had today were the Cabbage thoran, Cherupayar Curry, Avial and Sambar. All were delicious. Subtle but full of flavor! Everything is coconut based. I highly recommend you try this for a different experience. Prices were super reasonable too. I will definitely be back. It is take out only for now.

Love the rotating menu. It allows me to try different things every time I visit. The owner takes time to discuss and educate me on each dish and even gives me little taste samples. Mango lassi is nice and thick. Definitely a nice place to go if you like flavorful vegetarian food.

Delicious! We are so glad we tried this place. The food is well-spiced and flavorsome, not greasy or spicy, as restaurant meals often tend to be. This is authentic home-cooked food! We loved the Semia Upamav (vermicelli) and the Kadala (chickpeas in coconut curry). We can’t wait to come back and try some more dishes.

Excellent food. Authentic flavors and feels like home cooking. A bit mild if expecting Indian hot, more like feel good food. Service also matched food, welcoming and calm. Much of India is challenging — dry, too wet, desert, enormous mountains, jungles etc. — but Kerala is easy, smart and friendly. Food from Kerala.
