Ripper, cup o’ chili and a red birch beer. Perfect order at the nostalgia-soaked Rutt’s Hut. The texture of the ripper was perfect, the mustard tangy, and the house made relish savory and delicious. The chili was among the best I’ve had, chock full of beef, beans and spices. The birch beer rootsy, deep and refreshing. Rutt’s is a true slice of American roadside history. I hope it never changes.

It’s a happy place. Middle aged people strolling in, reliving decades of good times, and breaking out into giddy smiles. All generations have a spot at the table here.

Great hot dog spot in NJ! The hot dogs were delicious and the homemade relish was the perfect topping! The homemade bread pudding was super moist with just the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend a visit here!

I’ve been to Rutts Hut many times and I am a huge fan of there hot dogs. They have been ranked as having the best hot dogs in America for 6 years in a row. I got the cheese dog with mustard and it is delicious. My server was very friendly and the prices are very cheap. Rutts Hut is an iconic location that has been around since 1928 and has the best hot dogs around. Btw it’s cash only with an ATM.

No frills place for a jersey classic. You cannot go wrong with getting a ripper here. Don’t forget the chili it makes it so much better. Also their yellow relish is great too. I only wish they took card. But I’ll always stop by if I’m in the area.

A must stop whenever passing through or even taking a spur of the moment road trip for some good hot dogs. While I have always stuck with the dogs, whenever I’m there the other menu items always look delicious. Rutt’s Hut is one of the many treasured New Jersey food joints that you must add to your list. Definitely try the relish and some fries. My latest visit was for a quick snack and did not order any sides. Will update post with some more pictures of the sides during my next visit. Rutt’s Hut has won bragging rights to the best dogs in the state and nation by various food groups both televised and on the internet. A must stop for all the foodies out there to add to your collection.

It’s one of my favorite no frills place to get a great fried dawg and a beer! Haven’t tried much of anything else, but I have heard the chili is solid. French fries and the beer battered onion rings are a definite compliment to the rippers! I know this is silly but I ain’t gonna lie I love love love their chocolate pudding!

Visited with my friends. My friends found out that they have really good hot dogs. We seat on the bar table and ordered food. The food served really quick and the price was very low. It doesn’t mean that the quality if the food is low. It tasted really good. Typical old fashioned hot dogs and burgers. It was amazing that they kept the price low with good foods! Definitely will visit again!:)

Amazing place to eat a meal. The hot dogs are legendary, and the gravy dipped cheeseburgers were fantastic. Our server Cathy was awesome, a true asset to the restaurant! Friendly, attentive, funny. And the prices are still so good you can eat you’re fill and not break the bank.

Finally tried Rutt’s Hut after years of it sitting on my NJ bookmarks list. I had the Ripper and the Bacon Cheeseburger and added lettuce and tomatoes (+.70) and fried onions (+.40). The Ripper was really good. It had a really nice snap to it. The relish (?) that you add on yourself was also a nice touch. The burger was great as well, especially with the fried onions. The fried onions come in this tomato-ey sauce that just went well with the burger. I think next time, I would just do a regular cheeseburger and add fried onions. I was kind of full after these two. I feel like I could have eaten another hot dog or another cheeseburger (especially since we didn’t get any fries) but I also feel like that would have put me over the top, so it’s probably better that I didn’t.
