Rusty Tractor – Door County – Breakfast Barn Menu – Egg Harbor, WI

Type : American restaurant

Location : Egg Harbor, WI

At Rusty Tractor, prepare to enjoy a hearty farm style breakfast much like you would expect on the farm. Bring your appetite! Our house special is stuffed french toast and it changes from week to week. Our haystack pile of fresh hashbrowns served with eggs any style is also a customer favorite and don’t even get me started on the biscuits and gravy. Pancakes as big as the plate but we definitely don’t waffle . It’s in a barn but is a quaint dining area that comfortably seats up to 4 (sometimes 5) people at a table. There’s a limited number of tables but turnover is fairly quick and it’s worth the wait and there’s a gift shop. We’re not a giant dining hall, parties greater than 5 or 6 with little kids, will require more than one table.

Based on 551 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $

We got there at 8:15 in the morning and were seated right away on a Friday. We experienced good food and service. The stuffed French toast was the star. Food was cooked well, for example the over medium eggs our son ordered were cooked perfectly. All the savory dishes needed a bit more seasoning to be to our liking, but that’s just our preference. We really enjoyed our visit, the food, and atmosphere!

My boyfriend and I came here for Breakfast on a Saturday morning. It is a cute restaurant with cute farmhouse decor. We had to wait at least 30 mins for a table due to it being so busy, but we were able to find a nice table to sit at and we each ordered a cup of coffee while we waited. Once seated, the waitstaff was very friendly. We ordered the special for the weekend which was Cherry Pie Stuffed French Toast. I am not much of a sweets person, but I was very impressed with how delicious it was. Staff was always coming around asking if we needed anything. It was a very nice place to eat. Highly recommended.

We couldn’t wait till Rusty Tractor opened for the season, and as usual, they did not disappoint. Friendly staff, quick service, hot and tasty food with large portions. Delicious breakfast sausage. Did I mention the coffee? Strong and flavorful! Without a doubt, one of the top breakfast restaurants in Door County.

Fantastic breakfast!!! Monday morning around 11am and there was no wait but it was busy. We had an International Scrambler, Biscuits and Gravy and pancakes. Aside from the fact that it was enough food for a couple meals, the flavors were fantastic and steaming hot! I love bacon and hash browns and neither disappointed, they were both hot and crispy, just the way I like them! As far as eggs, they were really good, but the 3 I had looked more like 6! My dining partner had the biscuits and gravy which were really good and had the perfect amount of pepper and the sausage links were extremely tasty. We both shared the pancakes which I’m craving, 6 days later! This is definitely worth a stop when you are traveling Hwy 42 in Door County!

It was entertaining to read the reviews but more so the responses. I am very sure that the negative reviews came from entitled out of states or retirees that expect the world to cater to them.

Such a good spot for breakfast. The gift store is adorable and filled with cute Knick knacks. The food was hot and well made, some of the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. The biscuits were fluffy and still crispy. The group I was with said their breakfast wrap was amazing as well as the blueberry/cherry and cream cheese stuffed French toast melted in your mouth.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast. We had to wait a bit to be seated, and nothing was said to us on how long it would be. The waitress comes to take our drink order and was very rude about it. She was rude when she brought our food. Never came back to seehow we where doing or asked if we needed anything or even how our food was. When I went to pay the other waitress was rude also. Did not say anything when I wanted to pay. I guess when you are a local you get better treatment than when you are someone from out of town.

Not a good spot for groups larger than 4 and families. We had a group of 8 and were told that they would have to seat us at separate tables. When the food came they brought the adult meals first, the food for the 1, 3 and 5 year olds in our group came a full 5 minutes later – I’ve never been to a restaurant that didn’t understand that kid meals need to be served first. The food was ok and our waitress was kind, but there are other places with better breakfasts that I would recommend for families before going here. It was especially disappointing since there are kid meals on the menu and a gift shop full of toys, but our family did not feel welcome here.

Loved the rustic atmosphere here. Food was fresh and tasty. We had a party of 6 people and were told we could not sit together because their booths only held 4 people and we were not allowed to push tables together. Saw another party of 8 separated across the restaurant as well. Really should find a way to seat larger groups.
