Rusty Taco Menu – Albuquerque, NM

Type : Taco restaurant

Our founder Rusty Fenton’s dream was to bring the authentic taco stand experience to local communities and to become the neighborhood taco stand.

The dream became reality when the first Rusty Taco opened in a converted gas station on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, TX in 2010. But Rusty Taco is more than just a place for street tacos. Rusty also believed in serving the community and creating a place where people from all walks of life can come together and feel welcome.

We are passionate about what we do and keep our menu fresh and simple. Deliciously uncomplicated tacos crafted by hand with recipes created by our founder, who famously said: “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®”!

Taco truly exceeded my expectations with their amazing nachos. The combination of flavors and fresh ingredients left me craving for more. Not only were the nachos delicious, but the overall value was fantastic. I appreciated the reasonable prices, which made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.

Establishment was decently clean. The front counter help was friendly and helpful. Tables could be wiped down a bit better but nonetheless okay. We ordered an array of items: Brisket taco, fish taco, steak nachos, steak taco and birria tacos. The habanero salsa was the spiciest of them all but still flavorful. The tomatillo was typical but no real heat at all and the red salsa tasted fresh. The steak nachos were the star of the show. Fresh and flavorful and the beef was perfectly cooked. I wish the birria taco dipping salsa was spicy, I think it would help cut thru and elevate the cheese and meat grilled taco flavor. Overall a nice experience. I hope to visit again.

I’m really disappointed on how this store is run. It’s very dirty. The entrance door is filthy. The bathrooms looked like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. The back kitchen area has employees eating and drinking behind the cash register. The employees are not friendly. No greeting just mumbling. The food is the most disappointing. I have always recommended tacos from Rusty. Today the tacos were rubbery, queso was runny and nachos were soggy.

Here in the Land of Enchantment in our lovely state of NM there are several local foods and Taco’s are not the exception. So to have a chain/franchise like this one start opening up locations across Albuquerque I’m expecting to be blown away and impressed. Unfortunately this was not my experience.

Good tasting food, but won’t be in a hurry to come back. Took 18 minutes to get us 3 tacos and 2 kids quessadillas. I would say the portion is too small, considering you’re paying between $4-$5 PER TACO. The tots that come with the kids meals were soggy and falling apart.

It was our first time going and they had amazing tacos and queso. The service was amazing, everyone in there was extremely nice. I went to get more tacos after finishing what we first ordered and they really cared that we enjoyed our food. I also got a mango margarita and it was very good! They have a really pretty outside area to sit in that would be great to sit while enjoying the food. Highly recommend this place for anyone that loves tacos and margaritas!

So we’d never been to Rusty Taco and we also didn’t know this location was just reopening this afternoon after being closed a while for repairs. They had a few kinks to still work out in the kitchen and our food took longer than expected. But oh boy was it worth the wait. I didn’t even pause to take pictures but no need – the tacos looked just like the pictures on the menu. By the time we left the kitchen was humming and kicking out orders quickly. We had chips, salsa and five different delicious tacos made with quality ingredients. Super tasty! The manager and cashier came to our outdoor table often to make sure we knew we weren’t forgotten and gave us more chips and some discount coupons. The people and food here are exceptional. We look forward to coming back to the outdoor patio with cool breezes and awesome Latin music.

Went last night around 800 the young man a trainee was a little confused about how to do something on the register and before he could even turn around Patrick the manager was their to friendly show him how to go about the task then finished ringing up our order. Patrick kept us Informed oh a little longer wait because our food was being made to order and it was worth it delicious doesn’t even begin to describe my opinion of the food . While in line my husband ask for a bag he had hurt his foot on our daily walk Patrick was super helpful getting a bag and going to the ice machine in back to fill a bag with ice for us. While we waited Patrick came to almost every guest to make sure they hadn’t been waiting long and to thank them for coming. Definitely be back thanks to the tasty food and the customer service of Patrick he seemed to be trying to instill this mind set into his crew because he reminded the cashier to have a smile on his face and in his voice.

First off, the service is absolutely terrible. There was one person in front of us ordering and when they were done, the cashier decided he didn’t want to cashier anymore and went to pretend to help the bar area. We stood at the counter waiting for someone to take our order for 10 mins. The other workers didn’t even acknowledge until that 10 mins after. Then the cook took our order. My husband ordered 10 of the #1 Picadillo tacos. When we got home, he realized they didn’t even put potatoes on any of them. While this location is nice and new, the entire staff needs to be fired. We will never be back here. Don’t waste your money.
