Homeyra moved from Russia with her grandparents to Switzerland, where she learned to cook in her grandmother’s kitchen. She brought her great culinary talents here to the United States and created the exquisite menu and served as the head chef.
It’s a French-influenced Russian menu at this formal high-end eatery with a variety of vodkas. Based on 280 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$$

Very nice and peaceful place to have a celebratory dinner. The man and woman servers were very polite and attentive. The food and mixed drinks were very good!! I’d definitely eat here again on a special occasion. The prices are too high for me to eat here regularly. A hidden gem in the heart of Herndon!

With a name like Russia House I expected an assortment of Russian dishes but apparently it’s “french inspired Russian place”. The decor is Russian but most dishes aren’t. Atmosphere is nice, although the chairs are a little flimsy and uncomfortable and the scent coming from the candles is a little weird and gave me a slight headache. Bread was alright but had a peculiar smell to it. Moldavian salad was alright, however the duck was very good. Beef stroganoff was very good as well. However, chicken Kiev wasn’t a chicken Kiev at all and guest didn’t like it. It’s supposed to be breaded but it wasn’t. If you wanted to make a French inspired chicken Kiev then don’t name the dish chicken Kiev. Guest had to return it and get the duck. Other guests ordered the pelmeni and it was alright, however the very small dish isn’t worth the $30. The drinks were pretty good.

Great food and atmosphere. We come here for birthdays and anniversaries. If we lived closer, we would be here more often. Owners never disappoint. Keep it up, guys! Great job!

I was hesitant at first because this place looked like I was eating at someone’s grandma’s house. However, the food might have been the best I have ever eaten. The duck was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed some of the Russian themed items as well and the meal was well worth it. I would definitely eat here again.

The first time we went to Russia House We had filet mignon that you could cut with a butter knife. The owners were very accommodating and informative. You could tell they love what they do. Everything about the experience was magnificent. We recently went to a vodka tasting dinner, and it was exceptional. Every single thing was delicious. The personally-infused vodkas were delicious. I highly recommend this as a nice night out location. There were many customers who were familiar with the owners and obviously frequented this restaurant and we weren’t surprised. It’s fantastic.

was alright. the food was nothing mind blowing. i felt like this place had more french cuisine foods than russian considering it is called Russia House. the salad and soup were standard. the pasta was kind of bland with the cream sauce. luckily it was not too rich but it was just okay. the beef stroganoff was much better. the beef was tender and the overall dish was way better than the pasta. the options for dessert were limited and yet it still wanst good. the pistachio cheesecake was lacking pistachio flavor and it was topped with green cool whip. the nepoleon was definitely old. the pastry was not flaky or was it crisp. at the the creme on that was good. it was a very comforting place but the food was just alright.

The food was really good! The service was nice and we enjoy the environment. I recommend this place, but is important to booking in advance to have a place inside.

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My wife agrees. If you’re willing to spend a little coin, it’s well worth it. I’m still thinking about that stroganoff I had and it’s been three days. Loved the food, great service, and the atmosphere was cozy.
