Grumpy staff. Good food. When it is fresh. Gave us expired seafood on our latest visit. We didn’t even order or eat from the buffet. So, no excuse to not be fresh. Staff does not appreciate generous tips. So annoying when you tip well and get no thank you and then even sour food!! We used to be regular patrons but am reconsidering loyalty after very disappointing service last time.

This place has been open since I was a kid & I’ve always loved going there. So it was so nice to know when I moved back home that Royal Garden was still here! I ordered online (not knowing I could come in and make my own plate) and my food was fresh, didn’t wait long & the lady in the front was super nice! I can’t wait to take my little ones for the buffet!

This is the best Chinese buffet I’ve been to in the Midwest. Always a good selection, the hot food is hot and the cold food is cold. The wait staff is quick to seat you and great about refilling drinks. Very reasonably priced and it is always CLEAN.

Service was great for a buffet. Rescued a star addition. I tried a bite of everything except what looked or tasted rotten. The honey chicken and pork ribs were really good. Just the right amount of flavor, not too sweet and well cooked. The spicy jalapeño chicken rated a third something a little off, maybe texture or cook. Everything else was just not finish-able. Some had to be spat out. It was packed on a Friday but made me feel bad that this was what Missourians were being shown was Chinese food. Never again.

We learned a few months back, if you want fresh food to go no later than 11:30. Otherwise, they just add fresh food to preexisting. Decided to go at 4 pm and did pay dinner price.They were still mixing in new with old food. Makes me wonder just how old some of the food was? Extremely disappointed.

Buffet had more than just Chinese. A little sushi, some ribs, pudding, desserts… pretty standard stuff you see in any big buffet. The food was hit and miss. I recommend taking a tiny bit of everything first time through, then going back for the things you like. I liked the salmon, my wife liked the honey chicken.
