I have no idea what the other reviews are on about! I was lucky enough to find this GEM of a restaurant! It’s usually pretty quiet but I think you should try it!! They have tasty fish and boy do they fry it! Good portions, kind people and fair prices! I’ve lived on the CT shoreline my entire life and these are the fish filets I’ve been looking for!! Unbeatably classic!! I go after work and highly recommend it! Support local business and get your fry on! They have Stewart’s Soda too! Yum!

I have scoured the darkest forests of New England to find authentic, British style, fish and chips. This place by far takes the cake not only in freshness and flavor, but in hospitality as well. I phoned in my order a bit late and arrived a little after closing. This woman waited for us to ensure that our meals were. She promptly dropped our fresh fillets of milky white cod fish into pristine, rolling oil. I took notice of the vintage looking bottles of malt vinegar, and knew right away that I was in the right place. At around 13 bucks, the price was right for 3 huge slabs of fresh cod fish, and a basket of perfectly crisped potato wedges. I would support these guys much more often if they were in New Haven. The distance between us could never discourage another quick trip to, Royal Fish and Chips.

If you enjoy the taste of poorly fried garbage stop what ever it is that your are doing and drive to this place. Everything was bad I wish I could give it negative stars. The fish was somehow cooked so poorly that I had a hard time braking it. If you can imagine what a wet, fried cotton ball would taste like than you can imagine their scallops. Please do not eat here I would prefer you burn your money.

Did not enjoy it very much. As soon as you walk in you notice that there is no one inside besides the one person running it. Jerry springer was on the TV in the background and quite loud. Though, I think the show is quite funny to watch, its not as enjoybale to hear all that screaming about whose the daddy while im trying to eat my food. This was all during lunch rush as well. Food is all frozen and then thrown into the deep fryer. If you want really good fish and chips, then go out towards the shoreline.

Service was terrible. The waitress was rude and it took 30 minutes for me to get my order when other customers ordered after me and relieved their food before me. Sensed some racism. Not really sure, but I felt uncomfortable and will not be returning.

Used to be a meeting place for families in the local area= good food ….this place was a ghost town when i went in…smh…in my opinion says a whole lot…place looks rhe same after many years..different owners…how many times?…had the calimari came out pretty fast…..strike one….not worth 10$…..food cooked in old burnt oil…sad…..hope the fish is better…probably not….fast fast sea food
