Route 40 Classic Diner is with new owners and with new owners comes fresh menu choices while keeping all of the classic menu dishes. I had the Italian Stromboli. It’s a lot it a Wedge Sandwich at fox’s den or other pizzerias, but served with a side of marinara. I recommend it as an unique take on the classic wedge sandwich.

I had heard that this place had new owners and everything was supposed to be really good but I took my Mom there today and I have to say we were rather disappointed with the food.. I got the three piece fried chicken with fries and Mom got roast beef with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My chicken was so so at best. Mom said her coleslaw was down right disgusting and truthfully it looked pretty gross. She said the roast beef wasn’t much better and neither was the mashed potatoes. The service kind of left a lot to be desired as well although I will say the place was very clean.. That was about the only plus for the whole experience.

Since the new owners took over I’ve had numerous good meals. Highly suggest their ghost pepper chicken sandwich when it goes on special, then new breaded chicken is fantastic. Keep up the good work!

Great atmosphere and good food! Staff is very friendly! It took about a half hour to receive our food, but it was worth it. Our server was very attentive to our needs. Definitely an improvement over the past couple of years. They do need a kids menu though.

Cute place. Some food is great, some food is just processed frozen food. It really depends what you order here. Real turkey on the turkey club. Real corned beef on the Reuben’s and I did hear the waitress say to another customer that the liver and onions special is cooked fresh to order. Ordering one of the several daily specials is probably the way to go.

Absolutely amazing food and service. The food was great and the milkshakes are even better so many varieties I definitely recommend the Cookie Monster milkshake I will definitely be getting it again. The route 40 Diner has become a lot better since the new owners took over and it’s only been a few months. This is my new favorite place to eat.
