We were there just as they were swapping over from lunch to dinner shift so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The wait staff was good enough to give us some ideas what to do while we were visiting their city. The baked brie was amazing.

Went for Happy Hour for the $5 drinks and half off apps. I highly recommend the Thai-ger Shrimp! Extremely flavorful! The pepper jack boudin dip was disappointing, not at all what I was expecting. Almost a grainy oatmeal consistency.. but that would be my only complaint. Rest of my experience was wonderful, great wait staff!

My wife and I visited Rouj Creole to celebrate our anniversary. It had been 2 years since our last visit. We ordered the Tuna Florentine and 16oz Ribeye, both of which were delicious. We had a pleasant conversation with Manager Gumbo about our experiences with parenthood and the various types of sauces that they offered. The Apple Nachos were also a hit!!

The service was excellent. Atmosphere was very clean and nice. My own issue is being from south Louisiana, I expected better from the seafood gumbo we order as an appetizer or “social” as they say . Don’t get me wrong you get a nice potion but the flavor was lacking. For an entree (pictured below) I order the seafood lasagna…first time trying this dish ever. It had a very nice sauce. Oh fellow college students, it is on the $$ side but food for the most part was worth it.

The service was great. The ambience was appropriate. The food was good. I would have given higher marks but I ordered the grits and grillades and they were cold, not even room temperature.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and I loved the music. It gave me the “this is home” feeling. I spend most of my time in California but I’m originally from Louisiana. I had the crab cakes, chargrilled oysters, and elk. The crab cakes were very nice, the bell peppers added a nice flavor and crunch. The chargrilled oysters were just ok in my opinion. The elk was delicious. It was however not the temperature that I ordered but I didn’t voice this to the server. I ordered medium well and it was definitely medium. There were several dishes on the menu that I would like to try. I will definitely revisit when I’m in town.

The atmosphere was really nice, our waiter was awesome and very helpful. I had the Chargrilled Oysters as an appetizer and Salmon with garlic potatoes and grilled shrimp as a dish. Both were delicious. I also sampled a little of their Crab Cake Maison and it was also very good. I would definitely return to try other menu items.

I came here for a dinner party. I loved our waiter, and the CRAB CAKES WERE BOMB. I paired that with some mashed potatoes and a lemon drop. I enjoyed my service, my bill was priced well for crab cakes, potatoes and a drink. Right under $65.00.

I really enjoyed myself. The place was packed so I suggest making reservations if you decide to try them out. The dinner was really good, I wanted to try something a little different and I got the PERI PERI QUAIL. I was not disappointed I would definitely order it again. The flavors were rich with a hint of spice and the meal was very filling. For dessert I got the bread pudding, which was delicious, and I’m normally not a huge fan of the dish. So I know we’re to go if I want a good dessert as well. If your looking to try something different and not step too far out of your comfort zone I recommend going to ROUJ.
