My wife and I have been to Rosita’s many times although we don’t live near it. Each time we have gone there we have had a good time and enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is not formal nor is it sports bar like. It falls into what casual would be if you dined at your friend’s house. Both indoor and outdoor dining is available. The menu is somewhat larger than most Mexican dining but it is the food that is the star. The guacamole is fresh and extra creamy and not given over to an abundance of cilantro as is common elsewhere.

It has been a year or so since I’ve been to Rosita’s. I used to love the place, but probably won’t be going back. My tamale was dry and actually hard on one end. My son’s enchiladas had what looked like melted plastic(it was cheese). The food came out super fast which tells me it was probably microwaved. The waitress was good although they don’t wear the nice dresses anymore. It’s slacks and a polo. I think the dresses added to the atmosphere. There were also several areas of the ceiling that could use some repair. Did they change owners?

I grew up in DeKalb but I’ve spent the last 40 years in San Diego and work remotely and when I miss SD I go to Rosita’s. I think the food is really good. The chips and guac are great and everyone is friendly and attentive. You’ll like it.

With the exception of the front tables being in a noisy area due to heavy truck traffic, I can’t say enough good things about Rosita’s! The food is authentic, creative and delicious, the Margaritas (Cadillac) the best I’ve ever had (although it would be nice if they had half pitchers) and the staff most excellent! Kristen was attentive, knowledgeable and a terrific server. We will definitely be back!
