I can’t even begin to express that after watching this place be built, and then expanded I’ve never eaten here before because wine isn’t really my thing and I assumed it was wine focused with some food. This is a gourmet restaurant on par with any midtown or downtown establishment. It’s fine dining in a very casual and friendly atmosphere. The hosts, bartenders, and servers , especially Melody, are true professionals who know the menu as if they helped design it. Ate here Wednesday, it was so good we came back on Friday. Sat outside the first time and caught Hughes Taylor in the music room tonight. Highlights for me personally are the ricotta, lamb lollipops, the duck (some kind of crazy fruit served under it… amazing), and the elk venison tenderloin. I’m on a search for the world’s best risotto, and while Riverstone Corner Bistro is still first in my heart, I highly recommend the grilled corn risotto. The orange butternut squash was a very unique side with a sweet but bitter flavor that I loved. I don’t normally eat dessert but I did here and it was amazing…triple brulee the first time (all awesome) and pan fried pound cake with ice cream and fruit compote tonight. Please keep your money in Woodstock and Cherokee County and patronize this place, but save me a table!!

This was our first time here, and we enjoyed the visit. Upon entry we noticed that Rootstock has more of an upscale feel. We had the pleasure of Jarod being out server. He is top tier. He was very pleasant, and attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, funny. He had a great sense of humor. We weren’t very hungry so we ordered the mussels and the blackened pulled chicken and waffle. The mussels came with some grilled bread to dip in the broth and was pretty good with plenty for both of us to share. The blackened pulled chicken came out piled high with chicken. I do recommend getting the waffle on the side. When ours came out the waffle was soggy from the syrup. Jarod got us another one and it was good. The chicken had a nice little spice to it. I ordered a Baysil Old Fashioned which was great and my lady ordered a house red, which was, well a house red. My old fashioned had a nice balance, not too sweet and I could taste the Basil Hayden. This was a well crafted cocktail. We would have loved to dined on the rooftop but they closed it due to rain. We will be back to explore the menu and see how the entrees are. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed.

I’ve been to Rootstock twice in 1 week with two very different experiences. The 1st time we sat at the bar & had a fantastic meal (me, the pork chop & he, the chicken). The old-fashioneds were tasty, the bartender provided excellent, attentive service & the meats were cooked & seasoned to perfection. The only thing that didn’t knock my socks off was the cheesecake. Although the portion was generous & the presentation beautiful, it lacked the tangy cream cheese flavor – I suspect from flour in the batter. Anyhow, it would have been a 5-star meal. So impressed were we, we came back with a friend a few days later & sat at the rooftop bar. This time the bourbon-wine cocktail recommended by the bartender was off-balanced & not so tasty & the meats were over cooked & dry. When the bartender saw how overcooked the pork chops were she offered to have them recooked. It came out again just as bone dry as the first time. Super disappointing but by this time we were all ready to go. So a drink & a couple of pricey meals went unfinished (but the carrot cake was awesome!). Not sure if it was an off night in the kitchen or if the kitchen is inconsistent but I’ll give it a 3rd try to find out.

Nice looking set up. Great service from Nico. Drinks were amazing. Food was sub par at best. Ordered veggie omelet no mushroom, goat cheese, or artichoke. Ordered shrimp and grits, small frozen shrimp and sauce was so thin it looked like water was added. Steak and eggs bowl was served on a salad plate and steak was chopped into bite size pieces similar to a taco bell quality steak. Weirdly enough the bacon shrimp appetizer was delicious. Fresh prawns used to complete a delicious sauce of honey and cream cheese. Wouldn’t recommend for brunch.

Came here to get away from the typical Atlanta brunch scene. Atmosphere was ok. Food was incredible and worth the drive. Best eggs Benedict I’ve had in my life! Great mimosa pitcher. Chicken and waffles are nontraditional but super good as well. Attentive service!

I went here with a friend to grab a drink! We sat on the rooftop, and both ordered pomegranate martinis. The drinks were delicious! Such a wonderful atmosphere and the drinks were so well balanced. We will definitely be back! I love the masculine decor of the restaurant as well.

Let’s start with our server Tayla, BOOM she’s great! Friendly, personable and very attentive; we enjoyed meeting her very much. We were looking for Tapas that evening, so we ordered a bunch of appetizers and the veggie salad. Every delicious dish and yummy cocktail made our evening a wonderful experience. We live local and plan to make Rootstock a regular destination. PS finish your dinner with the Mango Margarita Coconut Crust Cheesecake; you won’t be sorry. It’s huge so ask for two forks to share with a friend.

We went to celebrate our anniversary. Good food, great view. Felt a little forgotten by our server. By the time she came back the kitchen had closed and we couldn’t get dessert or another drink. No warning or last call.

We were here 3 times this week for different meals and had exceptional service and delicious food every time. Mikey and Diamond were awesome and made us wonderful drinks on the fly and off the menu. Would highly recommend Rootstock to locals and those visiting! It’s a great atmosphere!! We also had amazing live music upstairs. 5 star experience.
