I recently dined at Root in Georgetown, SC, and I’m thrilled to report an exceptional experience. The service was unparalleled – truly some of the best I’ve encountered since moving to the area 2.5 years ago.

Enjoyed during our vacation earlier this year. Great cocktails, bartenders provided extraordinarily generous pour of bourbon for husband I think due to the length of time it was taking to get food. They were under staffed but our waitress was wonderful. We really enjoyed the experience even if it took a long time. The meatballs with grits were superb. Fresh salads were delightful. Husband had the chocolate rubbed ribs and I had the seabass and shrimp with horseradish mashed potatoes. The portions were huge and everything tasted great.

Nice restaurant in Georgetown SC. We ordered the Grouper Fritters and they were tasty. The bread was out of the oven

Had an amazing meal. You have to try the crispy brussel sprouts as an appetizer! Everything was phenomenal! Natasha is one of the best servers ever, and Charles is an outstanding bartender! Check them out….you will not be disappointed!!! Will definitely come again!

Really Don’t like giving bad reviews but didn’t have a good experience at all. Sat at bar ordered some drinks but for some reason was ignored on ordering food. Couple came in after us ordered drinks as well then ordered food, was delivered food and ate their food while we tried to flag someone down several times just to order. Then Ordered some apps but had to wait until we got the apps to order rest of our food. Steaks finally came out and came out raw on one side and cooked on the other side had to send both back. Understand there will be fat in ribeye but one of the steaks had massive whole side of fat that could have been trimmed before cooking. Now when Steaks came back out raw side was medium the other side was well done. Both ordered Medium Rare. Got check and there was a 4% fee for using CC, normal national average is between 1.3% and 3.5%. Gave a 2 because Brussel Sprout App was descent.

We stopped in during our first night in town. Our bartende, Bex, was amazing! We had the mussels, burrata salad, and grouper bites. Everything was great. We even order extra bread to dip into the mussel sauce! The Blondie for dessert wasn’t the best, but still great with our after dinner espresso martini!

Atmosphere was wonderful and the staff was extra friendly and attentive even as busy as it was. Tasha was covering it all with a smile on her face. I wanted to try every appetizer and I probably should’ve! The meatballs were so good! I was set up with pretty high standards but unfortunately the Bolognaise didn’t hit the mark for me.

Went back for another try only after owners reply to my last post/review in April 23. Nothing has changed. Menu not updated. Beers listed that even the surly bartender doesn’t know about. If a patron can’t expect the most basics of an ACCURATE menu, one can assume the slope continues to roll downhill..as with Root. Bummer..I used to love that place. Added pics which clearly show inaccurate, outdated menu both on drinks and food. Sad the owner chooses to take their time to lash out in a rage toward a former loyal patron instead of simply keeping an updated menu. Jeez, you must be a real peach to work for.. guess why you have so many new staff? Just a guess. Good luck to you, Champ.

Sat down and was worried about the menu, nothing jumped out at me and it was a small menu. However, after ordering the Adukt Grilled cheese, Cheesesteak egg rolls and Meatballs and grits we were extremely happy with the food. It is top notch, so there is something about doing a small menu but doing it VERY well. I highly recommend this place. The food, atmosphere and service is on point!
