Roost & Roast is a family owned restaurant located in Town & Country in Palo Alto. We are small take out only restaurant serving the local community with our brand of Asian-inspired comfort food.
While our restaurant menu is largely Thai-inspired, the inspiration for Roost and Roast was to represent Asian-American flavor – building on the familiar tastes and flavors of Asia I grew up with and utilizing Californian ingredients and new cooking techniques that I’ve learned in my culinary career. Got the Thai pop. It was like pop corn chicken from most boba shops. Some pieces were good but some were mostly batter. The sauce was too sweet for my taste & wish there were more fried basil to give it more flavor. It was very busy during the lunch time rush hour and the staff tried to move things along as quickly as possible while being courteous. Willing to go back to try other item.

I had a bad experience at this restaurant, and I realize now it was from a cultural misunderstanding. The papaya salads are not meant for eating the next day, and when they are prepared as such they are usually spiced. I’m so sorry for my negative comments earlier, this has always been one of my favorite restaurants.

Ordered their hat yai dish and a couple hours later I vomited continuously I have not eaten anything else so it could only be the food from this place I had tried the chicken but noticed it was completely over fried but the chicken inside was still raw I had left the chicken after trying a few bites do not recommend eating here. I belive that the workers may have also forgot about the order as I had gone back 10 min later after placing the order and they were just waiting there when I asked them about it they said 2 min and started to work on it. Their food is not too bad but because of the rush job it had lead me to have severe vomiting and a horrible stomachs ache

Fried chicken was really good. Very crispy with the right amount of seasoning. I’m really happy that a Thai fried chicken place opened up around here. The style is unique and pairs really well with some rice and papaya salad. The sauces could use more fish sauce and chilies and less sugar. I get it that they’re trying to appeal to a general audience but give us options to kick up the fire. Pad Thai and other noodles were ok, too sweet for my tastes.
