Thoroughly disappointed with this restaurant. Our server was very kind and the decorations were nice, but the food was mediocre at best. For such an expensive restaurant, you would expect quality food, but it was greasy and the egg sauce is gross. The only dish I’d say was worth it was the chocolate lava cake, which was after the hibachi experience of course. Would not recommend.

Been coming to ROJ for last 15 years. Will NEVER come back EVER again. Full 7 course dinner for 4 people with drinks $500 +. All orders mixed up, never got our salads. Received meat first, rice and appetizers at their end. Beef instead of chicken . The cook must be new he couldn’t even read the order from the server. Terrible terrible terrible. They offered $20 discount. What a joke. I don’t need $20 I expect $500 service and food for my $500. There are plenty of places they will be happy to host my regular business dinner. Shame on you ROJ

The atmosphere and decor is pretty cool compared to other places I have been, but the food in comparison was subpar overall. The one exception being the egg sauce, that was delicious. The rest of the food was bland. The chef was very attentive and nice, although there weren’t really any tricks done that you would expect when getting hibachi (aside from making a fire with some oil).

Service has gone down significantly since we had visited the year before. Food was excellent but portions were significantly less and they messed up our order in the process as well. The chef didn’t do any “tricks” or anything fun (not even the fireball), he barely communicated with the table or even looked up to acknowledge us. There was a language barrier between us and the chef so when we asked to get our correct order it took a while to explain the error. We need only saw the server twice and our whole table was constantly looking for her for refills/drinks.

Please do not believe the negative reviews. This place has been a staple in my family for well over 20 years. My folks used to go here before they got married. Truly the best Hibachi restaurant in the greater Chicagoland. Never disappointed, excellent flavor EXACTLY the same way it was years ago. Sure other places may be cheaper, but honestly (and believe me I have tried so many other places) I keep going back to Ron. Hands down favorite. Salad is always fresh. Unique dressing I have not been able to find at any other Hibachi restaurant. Soup is delicious. Veggies cooked perfectly. Huge portions. Egg sauce is superb. Other restaurants give you less food. Don’t change anything you guys rock. Will be coming for many years to come with my family.
