Best restaraunt in Valdez. The view by the window is amazing and there is a wide selection of food. The Hawaiian Pizza was great, as was the halibut. Food is a bit pricey though, and my burger was well done even though I asked for medium rare (patties are frozen so they can’t do anything other than well done).

The food is good. The boiled scallops were very tender and halibut creole was tasty. The service is however subpar. Waiters were irresponsible and too busy serving many tables.

We ate twice here while in Valdez. The first time the service was great, the second time it was just ok. The food is priced typically for Alaska but you can eat here for a reasonable amount if you pick the right menu items. For example, one evening we had one plate of classic (plain) spaghetti and one soup/salad for $24; both dishes were filling and decent tasting. Would recommend simply because it has the potential to be reasonably priced and the food tastes not bad. The view of the harbor is quite nice too.

Everything about our visit was not exactly pleasant. We certainly didn’t enjoy ourselves. This restaurant has a gorgeous view of the harbor but between the food and the atmosphere I’d never recommend or revisit. Every part of the meal we ordered didn’t taste great at all, most we just didn’t finish. The taste was so off and be assured, this opinion comes from a family who hates to let anything go to waste and has no particularly refined taste outside of being very familiar with Alaskan seafood.

I had to ask for more water! Nobody came over to greet us for 15 minutes. Both my husband and I ordered meals with Risotto . They came with mushy white rice and the waiter tried to tell me it was risotto. My husbands salmon was too salty to eat. We ended up sharing the meat part of mine. For the caliber and price this is supported to be we were underwhelmed. They are short staffed and as others said missing ingredients! 25% off my dish was supposed to make this better? Go to the Fat Mermaid, the food is cheaper and much better!

It has been a long time since I have written a review about a restaurant. We came here because of all of the positive reviews. Myself and my three children went to eat here for lunch. It was a terrible experience. My son’s lemonade was watered down. Our appetizer came out with our meal. The kids spaghetti portion size were different but yet still the same price. My oldest son was looking forward to the garlic bread that was supposed to come with his spaghetti. The server told us three times he was sorry and that he would bring it out. We never got it. My salmon fish and chips were not good. The salmon tasted weird and there was ENTIRELY TOO MUCH BREADING. I peeled most of the greasy breading off the salmon. When I asked for hotsauce, I was brought Tabasco sauce. Which is fine, I love Tabasco sauce but not when it is extremely watered down. Maybe it is better at dinner time, but the lunch experience was not great at all. Also, you should update your crayons, those were pretty gross.

The food had very little flavor. We ordered as a group and only when the food arrived for all of us they informed us that one of the ingredients was missing so they didn’t bring the dish. Most of the meals didn’t feel fresh and the sauce was thin. They really shouldn’t charge these prices for such meals.

Had a wonderful dinner with daughter and son-in-law tonight and we were all very pleased with what we ordered. Halibut fish and chips, lemon halibut and lamb shank. Waitress Ali was pleasant and right on the ball. Will definitely go back!

“Roma” no longer exists. The location at the Best Western hotel has been taken over by new owners and new management as “the Wheel House”. Did not eat there but it has a nice bar with a good selection. Hannah provided us with very prompt, friendly, efficient service.

Having owned an Italian restaurant in the past, I went in skeptical. Had the meatball sub and the pink salmon chowder. The soup was yummy!!!!! The meatball sub was good (not as good as my moms, but I would definately order again.
