Ok so you’re looking for Italian food in Portland? Look no further! Roma Cafe is IT!!!! They are casual, no frills, homegrown, authentic Italian food. Hands down the best in Portland. Everything was delicious through and through. They have a menu that is just the right size, something for everything and the food is prepared to perfection. They have a great wine list, including regional Italian wines. We made a reservation, but they certainly take walk-ins. There is no parking, so give yourself an extra few minutes to park and walk over. Their wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to go back!

As a visitor to the area I decided to stop by this wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere and overall experience the building and dining room itself provide is beautiful, and a great place to just have some good food with friends or family. Both of the staff members I met during my visit were kind and provided great service. I ordered the chicken parm and the side of bread and all I have to say are good things. For one person the meal sizing was perfect, and the food came out hot and tasted delicious! Would 100% recommended this place to anyone in the area.

We were in town celebrating our 40th anniversary relying on reviews and chose Romas. Online reservations were full so I called and we were squeezed in. We were seated immediately at a table they were holding for us. Amazing food and service!!! Would highly recommend.

The food was decent but everyones pasta was waaay undercooked. Like, it needed another 3-4 minutes of boiling. The flavors were great; our party of 9 shared alot of plates so we got to try many dishes. The chicken parm needs to be pounded thinner and the portions size on the penne carbonara needs to be larger. The service was weirdly slow, our server would easily take 20 minutes in between each visit which is a long time to wait to ask for more water/wine/dessert. We waited so long for a dessert menu after asking for it that we just asked for the check once it finally arrived. I dont think I will go back here, but this place seems like more of a 2-4 people per table kinda of place i.e. our large party size may be part of the reason for the slow service.

From romantic dinners to group celebrations, all my experiences at Roma have been special. The service from Matt is top notch. The food is tasty and beautiful. Check out the dessert flight in my pic! Love the Victorian atmosphere and having Bramhall downstairs for post dinner drinks.

Everything was great! Started with house salad, Mozz salad and mussels with focaccia for the table. Loved the eggplant parmesan and short rib ragu. The choc flourless and strawberry tiramisu were excellent!

I’m picky, especially on Italian. Eggplant parm was very good but slices too thick for me. Chicken Parm good but texture was off. Spaghetti was 4 star. Staff great. Atmosphere very good.

Had dinner at Roma recently. I had chicken Milanese which the flavor was great but the chicken was rubbery. My colleague ordered sage butter ravioli for $25. It came with 6-7 ravioli and nothing else. No salad, nothing! Then they asked if we wanted bread and then charged us $2 for the bread! I understand food is more expensive now but for a $27 meal I would expect free bread. The tiramisu is odd and comes in a small jar for $12. I thought it was very overpriced for what you got and for the quality. Our server was lovely though. Would not return.
