Lovely place. Most of everything tasted great. Only thing we thought tasted fishy was the Salmon appetizer but they happily removed from our bill when we mentioned. The wines taste perfect as well. Try the Riesling. They have a lot of knowledge on the wines. Overall great experience. Espresso Martinis were amazing here. Get it with Grey Goose.

Had the Roasted King Crab in butter ($82 market price ) it was really good and juicy. The soft shell and kitchen roll was delicious! The sweet corn was good as well. Atmosphere was beautiful inside. Service was nice. Came here to celebrate me and my friend’s birthday and we were given complimentary champagne and dessert that tasted yummy! Spent $239 for 2 people

EVERYTHING was amazing and perfectly delicious! Food, service atmosphere! Best high end restaurant that my boyfriend and have been to in Houston! Every dish was high quality and cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sauces are innovative and pair perfectly with each dish. Some are a twist on traditional sauces, others different but delicious such as the sauce for the flat iron steak with the raw egg yolk. We were going to order the Omakase and the chef was willing to accommodate our dietary restrictions, but since we had too many we didn’t want to trouble the chef and just ordered off the menu. Our server was also very knowledgeable about each dish

Roka Akor always delivers when you are there. Awesome food, service and atmosphere. I also think they have very reasonable prices for the quality you get.

I’m truly perplexed by all of the 5 star reviews. I’ve wanted to try this place for a while now. My friend and I both felt the same. It was a so so experience. Beautifully decorated, yes. Staff were friendly and helpful, yes. Though in the spirit of complete honesty, the food, not so impressive. Let’s face it, Houston has an abundance of incredible Japanese restaurants and we wouldn’t consider this one. The truffle rice was an expensive dish, extremely liquid, stogie and lacking in flavor. Presentation was fun to enjoy though it needs to deliver on the flavor. The specialty rolls were lacking in options which was disappointing. What we ordered was nicely plated, we simply weren’t wowed by the flavors. Our dessert sounded great conceptually but was a miss for us.

Chose this spot on TikTok and thought it would be a great choice for my bday. I went with 3 of my friends and was initially surprised that the hostess at the front was so rude. She didn’t greet us, just looked at me, and when she seated our group, she didn’t say a word or smile. Cruella Deville vibes.

Most excellent place to dine like in Tokyo but without having to travel that far. Enjoyed the Wagyu beef Gunkan, the Robata Grilled Scallops, the Robata Grilled Pork Belly (my favorite), and the Lobster and Shrimp Dumplings. For the Main course we had the Prime N.Y. Strip, the 5-piece Sashimi plate (delicious!), and the Unagi Nigiri (yummy!). Excellent wine pairings and top service from Jorge. Overall, a most satisfying experience. Will definitively come back for the Omakase experience.

Excellent date night experience on a Sunday night for our anniversary. Everything we ordered was delicious, with just the right amount of guidance from our absolutely amazing and warm and friendly and knowledgeable server Molly! Food highlights were the pork belly, Wagyu filet and sirloin, and the chocolate cake and cheesecake. We would definitely return.
