We’ve been coming to this part of Maine for 15 years and we were always curious about this restaurant. This year, we had booked reservations at a few of our past favorites but were disappointed. When a friend recommended Rogue, we immediately emailed to get a reservation; the owner responded quickly, we went, and now we are fanatics about the place. We can’t wait until next year! Thank you Rogue!

The very best meal we had for the entire two weeks on MDI. The food is thoughtful and deeply nuanced. I am still dreaming about the pan seared gnocchi with lightly smoked mushrooms and crispy pork as well as the lavender crème brulee. The atmosphere is truly special and is the perfect backdrop for a magical dining experience. Thank you!

This place was quirky in all the right ways. No online reservations, but an email request was answered promptly, and we were so fortunate to dine here. Rustic but charming little dining room. The single server (who turned out to be the son of the chef) worked tirelessly to provide a good experience for everyone. We were looking for a light red to go with the duck confit and gnocchi with bacon and greens (both outstanding), but couldn’t find one on the menu in our price range. He brought out a bottle of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and a Vacqueyras that were not on the wine list; we chose the Pinot and were very pleased. Food was all fantastic from pork belly and fennel bisque to the chocolate cake. So glad places like this still exist!

Arrived at 8:30 when they close at 9pm. Was turned away by the bartender saying “they were winding down for the night”

The best meal we had all summer. Chef/owner was fantastic and accommodating to dietary restrictions. Absolutely wonderful dinner and cannot wait to come back.

This is one of the best restaurants on MDI. The cocktails, are extremely generous. Salads and appetizers are made from local produce and seafood. Homemade gnocchi in cream sauce is delicious. The pork shank is another favorite.

Maureen and the staff are wonderful, we had amazing steak, Korean short ribs, scallops, cocktails, everything was really excellent. They also handled some over-the-top rude people near us with such grace and honesty and it made us love them even more! If I lived here I’d be at this restaurant as often as possible.

They have a small menu, but a great selection. They probably only offered seven or eight appetizers, and seven or eight main courses, and you get what they offer, so don’t expect a steak or a whole lobster. This can be an issue for someone like me with Celiac. They did offer one dish that was specifically gluten free, but it wasn’t something I wanted. I explained that I was okay with cross contamination, but I couldn’t have a flour thickened gravy or breading, but something like soy sauce was fine. They were very nice and helpful explaining what menu items I could have or what they could modify for me, like dusting a pork cutlet in rice flour instead of wheat.
