About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

We ordered 2 Pizzas and a salad to go. The salad was excellent, had alot of stuff in it, plus the dressing was awesome, good flavor and tasty. The pizza was way better than I expected, and it was better than Giordanos!!! Alot better as a matter a fact, plus we got a free pizza for downloading the app and ordering. This will be our new go to for Pizza!

Super hot and fresh food. Lackluster atmosphere. It’s just a storefront. You can’t see into the kitchen or interact with anyone besides the cashier. There is no on location dining. There isn’t even a posted menu.

Great pizza pies! It’s a pick up and go atmosphere with limited seating but it’s meant to be. Dig in from the comfort of your own home.

Thin crust pizza is always fantastic! What makes this place great are the employees. The young man at the counter is so nice. Always makes sure the other is correct and so pleasant. Give that man a pay raise! I don’t know his name , but so nice!!!

Nearly half the pizza was missing toppings. The pizza was hot, but even if the pizza shifted half, the toppings shouldn’t be missing. All from the edges. Also, if it had shifted where those toppings were, they weren’t pulled on top of the other toppings. They were missing . Lou, this was shifty.

I’ve had this place twice before years ago and it was really good, but the pizza my wife got me tonight, for my birthday, was inedible and disgusting. I got the classic Lou deep dish. It was sopping wet with grease, literally pooled grease around the crust. Barely any sauce. The sausage tasted like a microwaved hungryman meal. The garlic bread was soggy and bland. The sauce tasted watery and nasty. This was the most expensive pile of garbage I’ve ever gotten….Happy birthday to me!

Great pizza. Slow service. I don’t live in the area but I have been working in Rockford often. Since this is my last trip here for a while, I decided to order a pizza. In the 10+ times my boss and I have ordered here, I’ve only had the order be ready on time once or twice. I actually started to purposely place the order online earlier in the day and set my pickup time like 10 minutes earlier hoping I won’t have to wait a long, but it doesn’t help.

Food quality nothing like the founder’s started (at least 90% deep dish all dough barely any toppings) yet cost sky high. Certain phone and counter help unprofessional. Keep hanging up on you when calling. Now representing the company with printed devil sign.The founder’s must be turning in their grave what their offspring has done to this company at least here in Rockford!
