This the 1!!! Oyster mushroom sandwich! I use to get the spicy oyster mushroom sandwich from PLNT burger all the time but they replaced it with some weak azz patty. I found out Roaming Rooster had one so I pulled up to the U st location. JESUS MARY KC-i & JOJO! This it! This better than PLNT burger old sandwich and it’s even better than my homemade version. And the inferno sauce! So spicy! Love it! The cole slaw was a nice touch to the sandwich, next time I’ll do extra pickles. The fries was good too, remind me of 5 guys. A lot of carbs between the bun and the fries but all in moderation right. So glad I found somewhere else with a oyster mushroom sandwich, please don’t replace this with no soy based patty! oh yea I brought my own Pellegrino in they only seem to have drink options with too much sugar.

AHHHHHMAZINGGGGG!!!!! Hands down WAY better than Popeye’s for sure! We traveled to try this & will do it again ANY day! We tried “The Buffalo” medium & it was pure perfection The half & half drink made it even better. Not sure what “Roaming Rooster sauce” is but it was great as a dipping sauce for the fries. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for something delicious. Can’t wait to try all the sandwiches

Stopped in town for a couple days and I was recommended this spot, I was not disappointed. 1. I was supporting my East African people 2. The customer service was very good and 3. The food was superb. The chicken was nice and moist, the fries hot and crispy and they give you a good amount of them. Will definitely return on my next trip to DC.

That parking situation is new but at least its free for two hours. Got the honey butter fried chicken sandwich as recommended by a friend in mild. simple but delicious sandwich and the mild is a good kick to it, not overly spicy, very flavorful. staff was very nice and friendly.

Best chicken sandwich in DC! I ordered at the window and had my order ready under 20 minutes. There are small tables outside if you’d prefer to eat at the restaurant. Great portions and very tasty. Definitely a must go! I got the Nashville (pictured)

I became aware of this place from Instagram. Everything looks amazing on social media. I had to try it for myself. My expectations were a little high due to the clips I saw from Instagram. I ordered a honey butter spicy chicken biscuit with bacon. I was only disappointed with the bread. We arrived when they first opened up in the morning. My thoughts were everything will be fresh and hot. Not so much the bread but the sandwich was still okay.

The sandwich was tasty but very greasy. My littlest child had the chicken wings. I could hear her crunching on those. They were very crispy. The lemonade is standard, nothing special about it. The fries were really good.

I used to be a huge fan of Roaming Rooster and was excited for the expansion to multiple locations. When they first opened at this location (U St) the food was unbelievably delicious, and I would get it regularly since I lived close by. In the last year or so, I have noticed a decline in quality at this location (ex: chicken tastes and feels stale and a lot smaller than before; biscuit for breakfast is stale and hard; french fries are undercooked or soggy, served cold and not enough salt). I thought I was just unlucky once or twice but now having gotten multiple underwhelming orders at this location, I want to share my experience in hopes of the owners being able to turn it back around to it’s original state and match the quality of the Bladensburg location especially with the competition of Hot Lola’s coming about.
