We love seeing Greg at the register he is such a kind soul ! The Southern Brisket Salad is the best salad in the Fort Payne area! I also enjoy their Brisket Mac and Cheese. Staff is always nice and welcoming. We love visiting Roadside ‘Que.

Good barbecue and interesting sides. Brussel sprouts and German potato salad was very good. I have never had German potato salad and was a unique taste I have never had. They slice then chop their brisket which I am not a fan of but it was still very good. Plenty of both indoor and covered outdoor seating.

Found this place on Google maps before I knew I’d be in the area driving through. Guy behind the counter was super nice and helpful. I got the brisket sandwich combo: with a side and drink. The brisket comes chopped on the sandwich and it was really really good. You get to choose your sauce and I went with Alabama white, loved it. The Mac and cheese for my side was probably one of the better Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Great little place. Looks like a relatively small operation so I imagine things can get backed up when they’re busy.

Roadside que is by far my favorite restaurant in Fort Payne. With its family friendly environment and its delicious menu it is the perfect place for a scrumptious meal. Every time we walk in we are immediately greeted and given a thorough but brisk overview of the menu. Of which, my personal favorite item is the Mac and cheese meal with brisket. The restaurant itself offers a variety of entertainment including board games, coloring sheets, a ping pong table, a foosball table, and free to play arcade games. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant anytime you’re in Fort Payne!

We were welcomed immediately at the counter with a quick overview of the menu. The food was full of flavor! Ribs and nachos were great. We got the tangy bbq sauce which was a little different but a nice change of pace. It was not a thick sauce, but thinner like dark vinegar with spices – just unexpected. Nachos we hearty. Sides were not typical for southern sides – a northern flare – the German potato salad and green chili were really good. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the back patio. One of the staff noticed our bikes on the car and gave us a great tip on a trail in the Desoto State park. Would definitely recommend!

We would definitely come back for the meat! The uncle who greeted us was very friendly and welcoming and informative. The nephew makes the food. Some local guys were having a drink at the bar. Comfy, simple place. And the locals gave us a recommendation for a place for tomorrow. Now, the food. We split a rib dinner and a brisket sandwich. Both had killer flavor! Unfortunately I dipped my ribs in the sauces (we tried all 4) until the last half a rib, then realized the ribs were totally more yummy than any of the sauces. The brisket is great on its own too, but the tangy/vinegar sauce was the perfect “dip” for this!! We had the potatoes (I liked them, hubby not so much) and the baked beans (not our style but not bad). They were out of the green chili stuff. Bottom line after all that, the meat is worth the trip!!! It’s cooked right outside and the rubs really are delicious.

I am 56 years old and have been from Texas to South Carolina in search of great BBQ. I have been everywhere in between as well. I am not a novice when it comes to BBQ. If you have to have sauce on the meat then you do not understand great BBQ. The pork and the brisket are the best I have ever tasted. I want to taste the meat and the correct amount of smoke in my BBQ. Roadside gave me the perfect blend. It was amazing !! I have found my favorite BBQ place right here in Fort Payne Alabama !!

The Brisket, Mac and Cheese, and Baked Beans are some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner puts alot of pride in his establishment and it shows. You can definitely see he wants each customer’s experience to be enjoyable. Amazing food and experience. They also have a Pac Man and Mortal Kombat Arcade free of charge. This restaurant is a no doubter if you are in the area.
