We’re River’s Edge Inn, and we’ve been the premier restaurant here in Dixon, IL, since 1987. We are family owned and operated and situated right on the Rock River with beautiful views from anywhere inside our establishment. Great place for dinner. We both got the pick 3 combo and it was awesome, you get so much good food. You’ll definitely need a box for leftovers because you get so much to eat. Sirloin steak, fried shrimp, and ribs all with a twice baked and the salad bar was soo good. If you have never been here before and not sure what to get, the pick 3 meats combo is the way to go because you can try good portions of different things. We got to sit outside on the patio also and enjoy the river view. Waitress was on top of everything & food was fast!

While the restaurant is old and worn out looking, everything else is top notch. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, everyone is friendly and extremely helpful. We went for lunch and ate outside. The food was tasty and the waitress (Paula aka Murph) was outstanding. You are right on the river so that enhances the experience. We will return!!!!!

Food, atmosphere and service was excellent! Food was flavorful, fresh, big portions. You will not be let down at all. I recommend to go after 4pm for the salad bar that’s included with all meals! Everything we ordered was amazing and definitely is one of my go-to places when in Dixon!

The restaurant is right along the Rock River with a nice view of the river birds and boats going by. There is plenty of free parking, most of it is not marked and gravel so it is difficult with a walker, cane or wheelchair. The restaurant is handicap accessible as long as there is someone to open the door for you. The restaurant was very clean and well appointed.

Don’t be fooled by the outside looks. Good food, good people inside. The bar is limited, but the Friday night dinner specials are very good. You can boat up or drive up. But make sure you get reservations for Friday and Saturday evenings.

Cute little restaurant on the Fox River. Home cooked meals and the Fried Breaded Pork Tenderloin is huge and awesome. Prices are reasonable and everything on the menu is good. Not a fancy place but very clean and waitresses are super. Beautiful view of the river.

The huge fried tenderloin and fries was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. It was a massive piece of pork loin, almost as big as the plate, battered and fried (rather than breaded and fried as is standard for huge Hoosier Tenderloins) and served on a comically small bun (in comparison), with tomato, onions and lettuce on the side. In spite of the massive size, the meat was thick, tender and flavorful. The fries were excellent as well, and seemed to have very flavorful light batter coating. The service was very fast, efficient and friendly. We loved the tables by large windows overlooking the Rock River. It appears that the place has recently been updated and remodeled on the inside, with newer flooring.

Really good food. Very nice view of the Rock River in Dixon. Service was good. Some bugs flying around, but it is literally next to the river. The restaurant is a bit outdated, but clean. They also have slot machines which was a nice touch. They also have a bar. Plenty of parking and the price was fair. Will return!

We are from KC Missouri and stopped in for lunch while attending a Celebration of Life in Dixon. The lunch was delicious! I had a shrimp cocktail and dinner salad and my husband had the burger and fries. We both throughly enjoyed the meal. The waitress was wonderful and attentive without being too attentive. We enjoyed the view of the Rock River, watching the boats and wildlife as we ate our lunch.
